Default FS: 350z black housing headlights-NEW

So... I'm a dummy and I ordered these headlights not realizing that I needed the HID version. I bought them for $240, still in the box never been used. If anyone's interested in purchasing these from me, I'll sell them for $150 or I'll just send it back for a refund. On the website it says professional installation recommended but it's actually really easy. My loss is your gain

Here's what they look like:

I live in Seattle if anyone wants to come by and take a look in person.

That's certainly the faster/easier/cheaper way to do it!

Good luck!

The 2006+ are HIDs. These are not.

Yeah, I'm confused too. The 06+ are DUAL HID, the 03-05 are single HID. Which one are these? Neither HID? Doesn't compute....

03-05 are xenon, 06+ are bi-xenon.

I believe 03-05 had to be enthusiast or higher trim to have xenons though. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

03-05: Base: Halogen H7 bulbs
03-05: All other models: Xenon D2R (low-beam)
06-08: All models: Xenon D2S (bi-xenon)

Base model 03-05 Z don't have HIDs. The bulbs used in these headlights are different bulb types than the 03-05 HID headlights.

and yes 03-05 HIDs are xenon and 06+ HIDs are bi-xenon. Meaning your brights are also HID in the 06+ HIDs..

Well crap, now I'm totally confused because I have a 2003 Touring and maybe I don't have the HID version anyways? All I know is that when I took apart my headlight, the sockets and the plug weren't the same size and they wouldn't fit!

Your 03 touring has xenon low beams.

The headlight you bought is meant to replace the halogen headlights (03-05 base model). Even though it might say its equipped for HID or whatever, this is meant towards aftermarket HID kits where you can install an HID bulb in an H7 housing. These headlights have 6 pin connectors, while the HID headlights have 8-pin connectors (or the other way around, can't remember exactly).

So basically you just bought the wrong housing, I'm pretty sure they do not sell aftermarket HID OEM housings (meaning: one that comes with a D2R bulb mount rather than H7 for the low beams).

Your best bet is to sell those and buy some OEM from ebay, not aftermarket.
