SES light: P1168
Ok guys, give me your opinion...
I just put on my Berk HFC this past Friday and got a SES light the minute I turned the car on.. odd, but not too weird since I've heard this light comes on for some of us HR owners. Go and check the code but it's not the usual code; it's a 1168 (closed loop bank 2). From what I gather, it's a bad O2 sensor, pre-cat
.. you guys think I may have damaged the sensor when I was removing the stock cats? Damn impact tools cause hella vibrations.
What's worse is that my car drove fine until yesterday when all of a sudden, the exhaust sounds different and it feels like my car went into limp mode.. it lurches before taking off when I go WOT.

Here's an update.. since I see 32 views but no responses, I'm guessing either nobody knows or nobody's had this issue before.
Talked to Bryan at Berk and it seems my primary O2 sensor bank 2 (driver side pre-cat/header) was damaged during install (if possible, don't use air/impact tools). The ECU therefore could not tell whether or not my car was running rich or lean so it put it into limp mode so that my motor wouldn't get damaged. (This may be why I also had a subsequent P0051 as well). Getting that O2 sensor changed out Monday so all should be well.

^^the pre-cat sensors never come out during install... the usual codes P0430/0420 are the ones that HR owners complain about and those are the ones that come after the cat. I haven't thrown that code yet and hopefully won't.
let us know if it fixes it... never heard of impact hurting the 02 sensor, they should be used to the vibrations
you should check the 02 sensor wires maybe you snagged one or something.

even a slight drop on the ground and you can damage an 02 sensor. an impact would very likely damage it. i am curious though, how the heck did you get a socket over the end of it with the wires also?

they make a special socket with a cut so you can put the wires thru. Personally i use a breaker bar just to be safe. Take it into nissan and get it warrantied! Im sure they will hook it up. There dying for customers right now even if its warranty crap work.
Oh i didnt realize he used an impact on the actual o2 sensor.... Lol. Doubt you can get that o2 warrantied with aftermarket cats installed, unless u are friends with the service manager. Plus, it only pays 2/10ths of an hour warranty time lol... Dealerships arent that slow...

nope, i sent them in, they tested and cleaned them but found no problem, but the misfire is back and it is surely the injector because it moves with the injector.....so I get to pull the injector and send it back again! hooray :P
