Default Carbon fiber door laws?

Anyone know of any laws precluding you from driving a car with carbon fiber doors? i know you can't import one or manufacture one that doesn't meet DOD side impact ratings... but what about consumer type... building? or whatever

i just got my doors.... roll cage starts in a few days... but i was wondering if anyone knew if it would be illegal for me to drive the car to the shop with the new doors

Well you need a cage since there are no supports in the doors, once you cage it its no longer safe on the street unless you wear a helmet all the time.
I know people that have been screwed with over just having a cage, Im thinking you will get pulled for that more then the doors. Not many cops would know all about the carbon doors and how they are made...

Cops arn't the brightest around here, just tell them you painted them that color and you are planning on painting the rest of the car. It's like a checkered pattern.

just say its an overlay and you're going for that JDM-tyte look. all you need is a couple zip-ties and key chain sized stuffed animal hanging from the back somewhere

I don't think you will have a problem with the cf doors. Just wear your seatbelt at all times and they may not notice or paint it.
