how often does WA require it? for a 2004 car?

do they also do the smog test? or just ecu and gas cap?

Every other year.

Odd year cars take their tests on odd years and even year cars on even years.
They do the whole she-bang test.

You don't need the testing for the first 5 years of the car...after that it's every other year. Dmv will notify you when your tabs are due whether or not you need the test.

 

live out in the boonies and you wont have to do emisions registered my car at my gfs house so i dont have to ever XD

my buddies wrx is registered out in the boonies too, at his parents house. no emissions tests is nice for the catless folks.

 

my car is an 04 and i just had an emissions test done on saturday for tabs

Smog is EASY in WA. Had my car with all the mods, went to the test center in Redmond and less than 5 minutes later I was all good for the next 2 years

 

keep your cats and bolt them in every 2 years, no problem
