Default Questions about CAI

some douchebag told me the 350z has a lot of computer problems, he said even installing a CAI can get a lot of errors.. i doubt he knows what he is talking about, but since almost everyone here mods their Z. Opinions?

the z does not have a lot of 'computer problems'. installing a CAI on any car can throw codes, but if you follow the correct procedures you have nothing to worry about.

if you have a Z with a single intake, don't even bother with a CAI, imo, no real gains to be had there.

CAI is a waist of time. Get the K&N drop in for the stock air box, or a pop charger from JWT.

If you are installing a CAI because of the gains, well there's none to be had but it sure makes your car sound a lot nicer, I installed mine and it sounds a lot better than it did with the stock air boxes.

i'm looking at a Injen CAI, the pictures in theZstore doesn't show sway bar while the CAI is installed. Does that mean I will have to take the sway bar off once I install the CAI?

I don't see how the intake would interfere with the strut bar after install.

you may have to remove the strut bar to install your CAI but you should be able to put it back on after you are done, I was able to install mine without removing the strut bar.
