Exclamation Need new pads + rotors (brembo) suggestions needed?

Hey guys, so I went down to the Nissan stealership and had a multi-point inspection done on the car. Looks like I need 4 new tires (already knew that) and new brake pads and they also said my rotors were out of spec???
Anyway they quoted me at $1100 for the brake job and $1400 for the tires. WTH?
So I guess my question is, whats the best way of doing the brakes and saving money?
Any suggestions on shops or parts? should I stick with brembo pads, stoptech or some other aftermarket pad?
Are the Rotors off eBay worth buying?

Not about to spend $2500 at the stealership

Unless you're doing srs bsns, pretty much any pads should be fine. Your rotors, if they are indeed out of spec, can probably just be surfaced and they'll be good to go. Those two things said, folks seem to really dig on stoptech.

For the tires... tirerack.com seems to be preferred, though I ordered mine (amongst other things) from Injected Performance (I had a great experience with them); T1Rs, 2x 255/35/19 and 2x 285/35/19, just north of $1k if I remember correctly.

I would, in your place, hang about ebay/this forum sell/buy threads to get a nice break kit. Then install it yourself. For tires you can go to discount tires and have em do those. Oh and after you install all of that I would, in your place, get the tire alignment done too.

There are brembo upgrade packages.

Do the labor yourself. There are many DIY guides.
Even if you have very little to no experience, it should be easy.

For the tire situation.
Discount Tire has decent prices. What i like about them is that they price match. I brought them a printout of what it would have costed me from Tire Rack. Saved my self 300 dollars

Resurface the rotors (if you can) and pick up some OE pads. At the very least, do the install yourself to save $. I only DD my Z, so when my tires are low on tread, I start searching for used tires on here. Saves me hundreds.

Apparently the rotors are so out of spec that they cannot be resurfaced, or so claims Nissan. So you think the OE Brembo pads would be the best?

I have a choice between these 4 pads:

Factory OEM Brembo Pads: $267

Hawk HP PLus Pads: $187

Stoptech: $107

Omni 5: $72

(all prices from eBay and for both front and rear pads)

It's too bad you live so far away.

What size tires are you looking for?

245/40/18 - front

265/35/19 - rears stock
275/35/19 - rears could also work...

Take those rotors down to Autozone and get a 2nd opinion. The Autozone down the street from me will re-surface rotors for $20 a pop (I'm not sure if all Autozones do this). The Nissan dealership is in the business of making money, so I'd be willing to bet they're going to tell you that you need new rotors, no matter what the situation is. Anyway, it couldn't hurt and it'd give you peace of mind if you really DID need to shell out the extra cash for new rotors.

Good idea, I will probably go get a couple separate opinions from a few different shops...

They aren't marking tires up that much. I just ran a couple of options and at my purchase price here I'm still somewhere north of $1000.

Raybestos Advanced Tech rotors + EBC YellowStuff (for AutoX).

The Raybestos rotors were significantly less expensive than the OEM Brembos.
