Default Moving to WA... Emissions? WTF.

So I'll be coming to WA (Fort Lewis) this fall/winter and while doing some searching to see what's good there I saw that emissions testing is required in certain areas for cars 5-25 years old. My Evo sure as hell won't pass (unless they only check OBD-II codes, which mine are good). Am I fuxored or is there a light at the end of the tunnel for me?

O hai, BTW. I'm Tony, and Alvin owes me a beer when I get there.

you have nothing to worry about if need be

emissions here is nothing like California.

if you're so worried, paying under the table to pass is always an option.

i didnt tell you that though

Make love to the local Z/tuner crew and find one of their "friends."

If you can pass the obd2 test and the gas cap vacuum test you will be fine. They don't put sniffers on newer cars.

If your moving to Lewis, I'm assuming your military.
In that case if your worried about emissions you can just keep your Z registered in whichever state it's currently registered in.

No can. My Evo is currently registered in Hawaii/South Korea and will need to be switched once I get her there. Maybe I'll try and register it in TN since my mom lives there.

So I heard WA produces the most serial killers... troof?

Hey welcome man, I'm pretty sure Washington is known for animal sex offence aka horse *******.

If you are located at Ft. Lewis area that puts you in Pierce county and I'm not sure what their rules are but if they are the same as King there are actually some shops that are well known for doing the all in one, where they tune and run your car through emissions for you and hand you your passing slip then just go get your plates/tabs.

PM me when you get here and need info I'd be glad to help you out, but I think you may be ok with your car, our tests are no where near like Cali!

At least in King County, they only appear to check OBD II codes, so as long as you don't have an check engine light and your gas cap tests OK, you should be good.

So since I plan on getting a place in Lacey I shouldn't have to worry about emissions? Sweet.

Exactly, just DONT reset your ECU just before going.
The ecu for some reason in my buddy's Altima showed it was reset a few hours before... he failed... they said there wasnt enough data? Somehow his car got registered in Skagit county (no emissions)...

You're coming from Korea?! Nice!!!

Do you HAVE to move to Fort Lewis?? Because I live in Carnation and there's absolutely no emissions here.
