Default From Engine Upgrade to Engine Update

Comments Kindly Requested on the following:
FIRST: Vortech SC, JWT Cam combination.

Second: Stroker 11:1 to 4.3 Liters.

And happy to meet everybody at ZCargarge today. Lou - you sold me on the vortech, your Z is tops. Forgot the parachute though.

As to "Rob", he's got the whole package available, i.e. engine, bodywork hookup, etc.

Third: Clearbra vs Clearguard: Pros/cons

Would like to hear on the above subjects and what everybody thinks.

First: Good combo

Second: I think you have these numbers mixed up. A stroker would be changing 3.5 to 4.3.

11.1 is in reference to compression. If you want to build your motor with forced induction you want lower compression, maybe 9:1.

Third:???

Glad you enjoyed the ride Warren.

I thought about the TT, but I also took to kin the necessity of the required changes for the "later down the road" take offs for the smog test time, with "Rob's insight". That was the final decision maker. As to the price of a stroker kit, you would need to talk to "Rob" at Zcargarage.com. Me, I just let Rob write it up, didn't pay much attention to the pricing. The guy is so dog gone honest, and from what I saw, and my friends saw, not to mention the great guys there, I really didn't give the price a thought, as to the honesty and complete courtesy and professionalism at the garage. And must mention the reputation and the guys I met there when I came in, the cars he worked on and the ride given to me by Lou (Louzer) vortech SC and Rob in his APS TT. Yes Lou you're right, I just let Rob do the work. He'll fill you in on that one next time you talk with him. I like both extremeley well. I know either one will do the trick that I'm interested. (i.e. sti, z06, etc.) With the JWT Cam added and other little items we talked about, I'm hooked on the vortech SC. And of course the 3 yr warranty and the 100% satisfaction guranteed, with pledge to keep it at 100% precision, I'm sold. Even made a good deal by paying cash for the vortech, won't mention the discount, but it was good. Rob would be good to talk about the stroker kit, as he and I talked about it. Check with him, he's the "man" ZCargarage.com"

When I come back up to Rog's Louzer, want to get together with the guys I met up there again. Was pre occupied with the engine planning Monday. Sorry about that part, but we all know: The bigger the boys, the bigger the toys.

Definitely a great start Warren ! You'll definitely have fun with that setup ! Yeah, I also took a spin on Lou's Vortech that day and I swear my stomach fell on the road somewhere when he punched it to 2nd gear. Both setups you were choosing from are really good. I'm just glad you found the one you like & enjoyed your experience with Rob @ ZCG .

As far as the clearbra, I would definitely talk to 4myZ350 since he also has the SB. The type/brand of clearbra you get really depends on the color car you have. For example, I was told that Llumar is the best one to use for silver cars like mine.

BTW...have you thought of upgrading your brakes? Front BBK at least? An alternative is since you already have the Brembos, you can probably just change the rotors, pads, & lines to give you more stopping power which you'll need due to the monster you'll have under the hood. Can't go fast if you can't stop . Just a thought...

Good luck and keep us posted!!!

- James

Will give you a call myZ350 and get the info on it. Will let you all know next time, I come up there, so we can meet. I look forward to upgrades. Yeah, James, I really got a good wake up in Lou's car. Now I am ready to get the same with mine, that's also the reason I wanted to add the cam too.

I also did my homework on the brakes & got sloted rotors & high performance pads, with braded line. After I talked to ALL the players in the field ,I ended up doing what Rob @ZCarG told me to do the 1st day I met him at Z-CON in L.A.

Just out of curiousity...what Brand rotors, pads, & lines did you end up getting? I'm waiting for my Stoptech Stage 2 OEM Upgrade Kit to come in. If you have the same thing, what are your impressions on it so far? How was the break-in period? Any squeeking?
