Default Windshield dings

Windshield Dings... I noticed and talked with a number of people, while we were at Pacifica that had them. Anybody know of a location that could repair the dings (from rock chip, etc) in windshields. Thought maybe there could be a group discount even for it, if enough were interested. On the floor for discussion.

The crack on your windshild made your car go faster Sean.

I have never had a car that got hit as often in the windshield as my z. they are all very small though.

I got hit hard enough to crack the glass within 2000 miles of new, I have been waiting for the next crack before getting it fixed but so far all I have is about 40 tiny chips, mainly on the passenger side (too bad for my wife, they don't bother me at all).

I know the Classic Car Wash has a service for chips, mine is to far gone to use it, so I never looked into the price.

Default Windshield Chips #2

Found a place that will do the windshield for $40.00 per car, if there are 10 cars or more. Doesn't matter how many dings the windshield has. In fact I talked with an Insurance Co. also who said these guys are good and even waive the "deductible" on their clients, when they use this garage. If there is enough interest, than, that's the deal. The garage is in Salinas. So, I'll start a list and if we have 10 or more, then, we've got the deal. Anybody???

Okay, guess there's not enough interest. Will give it a week to see. I just got an appt to get mine done free. Heck I contacted my insurance and they said they would pay it and waive the deductble. Still got the deal though if interest shows up.

I'm interested, but I only got 1 ding on my windshield... would it still be $40?

I think I've seen this before. After repaired I think you still see the dings/chips, it's just a preventive maintence to keep the window from cracking. I know a place that charges $60. WSchli1672, would you have more info on this type of repair, it may be different from what I've seen. If there is new technology, then I would be interested. If it's the same to what I've seen, then I think I could do it myself and maybe a charge $10 each to do it for the interest group .

My understanding is it should be next to invisible. Also this shop does company cars and trucks. So that's about the best I know about it. I also talked to State farm Agent and they said it was the best shop in the area and they recommended them with high praise. I've already got a scheduled date to do mine set. as of yesterday.

It is $40.00 per car no matter how many dings. Normally $60.00 first ding and $10.00 per additional ding. But....10 cars or more than it's just $40.00 per car if they have 1 ding or 20 dings.

Okay, I got my ding fixed today. And a good job it was. Outside, if you didn't know about it, you would never know. It was an excellent job. Oh, and there's several Ins. Companies you will pay for it without any deductible. The guy: Frank Dornan is good. He knows his stuff. Still same as above, if there's interest, and he is on a group of Ins. Companies including State Farm, AAA, USAA, etc. etc. that pays him to do it. I plan to be at the dent removal next Saturday, and you can take a look if your there. If you want the info on him, pm me. And if there is enough people then that's good too. If not, well, have a nice Z day.
