Thanks everyone!

Michelle, that has crossed my mind to get something else but I told myself I'd stick to my first choice. This has worked out for me so far .

Bubble, I will never know what your car looks like since your car is always evolving! The Z with a thousand faces. Hehehe. Good luck with your hood. I'm sure it's gonna look hot on your car!

UrbanTacticZ, wsup man? Yeah, Dat is the guy I talked to when I ordered my Vertex kit. He's a great guy w/ a bad a** ride. He's definitely going to get my high recommendations when I write up my review once my car is done. If you talk to him, tell him I said wsup & that I'll be sending over the pics of my car to him when I'm done. All I need now is my Blitz Wing & I'm pretty much set with my exterior mods. Just a few minor stuff here & there like a CF B-Pillar. BTW...what part of the Bay are you from? I'm in the South Bay. Not sure of any meets but I'm laying off on the rides for now until I get my Clearbra installed. I learned my lesson from my OEM bumper. Man was that thrashed! Some of the South Bay folks wanted to do a photoshoot so maybe we can get some kinda of South Bay Photoshoot Meet sometime later this month or next (Starbucks?).

Where in the 707 are you now? I'm up in Santa Rosa, and have seen a few new Z's on the road around here.

Yep. That was me . I was dropping off some of my OEM parts I pulled off during my kit install. Nice looking brakes BTW . I remember telling Luke (when he was working on your car) that I definitely needed to get me a nice looking set like those in the future .

I got my hood from 350Zonline. Ordered it from Paul (Red6) who is a vendor on this site. I don't have the water guards for it yet but the fiberglass version comes with one & the CF is 40 more. As I mentioned earlier on this thread though, the bottom of the hood has some clearance issues with the OEM strut bar. Not sure if it's just mine but I had to remove it in order to get clearance. I think you'll need to get a flatter style strut in order for this to fit since Paul has one & it fits. I'll definitely post more pics when I get a chance. Paul has some pics on another thread if you want to check it out. Just do a search for "JGTC" & then look for the title that says "JGTC Hood".

Well, here's an update. I was suppose to pick my baby up on Saturday but it was still not ready. The owner had the guys repaint my hood another time because he didn't like the quality of how it came out. So I asked them when it will be ready, & he said Monday (To summarize what has been going on, I dropped my car off at the beginning of this Month on a Thursday. They told me then it will be finished the following Thursday. When that Thursday came, they told me it won't be done for yet another week so it was postponed till the following Thursday. When that Thursday came, they told me Friday & when that Friday came they said Saturday which brings me to where I'm at now). Well, Monday is here & I stopped by the shop to check it out & it appeared that they haven't even removed the hood from the clean room yet (this was like 3:00). They said they're still going to buff it out & remove any imperfections. I was suppose to get my dents removed but they said they won't be able to get to it for me since they'd have to coordinate with the dent guy. At this point, I said f' it with the dents. I'll just attend one of those ding meets that we set up to get group deals. BTW...anyone know when the next one will be? So all they have to do now is take care of my hood & install my side mirrors which I had painted too. They also need to install the grill on the vents to my hood. Now, part of the deal was to have that nick I got on my rear fender repaired as well which they still haven't touched. They told me I should get my car back by 5:30 today. Is that even possible considering what they have to do? I know it's been a LONG time already but I don't want them to do a half a** job just to give it back to me. I gave them some pressure on Saturday after they told me it was yet delayed once again. So what should I do? Should I just tell them to take their time & give it to me when it's done? Keep in mind it's been in the shop for almost a whole month now & I won't have my loaner car after today! I just wished they gave me a straight forward answer to when I'll be getting my car back. It's very inconvenient for me since I have to schedule in when I can go to the shop to pick my car up. Sorry for the long post...just needed to vent.

Well, I'm dropping off my loaner car back to my Parents now & getting a ride over there. If it's not ready, I'll have no ride until it is . I'll let you know how it goes...

that sucks!
well unfortunately that happens a lot when dealing with body shops for the first time.

if you are stranded at the shop tell the body shop to rent you a car and have them pay for it, since they didn't get the car done on time.

how big is the nick on the rear fender? if its just touch up paint then it won't be a problem for them. as for the hood and sideviews, depending on how big the shop is and how many guys he has working, getting your car back at 530 shouldn't be a problem.

good luck!

Well, just got back & as I thought, it wasn't ready . By that time, I pulled the owner aside & told him wsup. I really don't mind them taking their time to make sure it looks perfect. In fact, I want them to take their time to make sure it is perfect. The problem I have is them telling me it's ready one day & when I get there, it isn't. I really don't like the run around since I have to coordinate my schedule to pick up my car. He appologized & he thanked my for my patients. So the deal now is they'll be installing & finalizing the rest of my stuff by tomorrow. Found a few things I wanted them to re-adjust. I also took a close look at the paint under the sun & noticed that although the color matched, the painted parts seem to have more sparkles. He told me that it was normal for new paint & that it should even out later. He said if it doesn't, that I could bring it in to get it fixed. Will try to get some outside opinion later when I get the car back.

Thanks Michelle. Yeah, guess that's how it goes. He has a fairly big shop with several employees. Oh, & a dog that I've been chillin with while I sat there & waited. We're new buddies .

Unfortunately body shops always take 5 years. Never believe them when they say that your car will be done on a specific date. Multiply whatever they promise by 4 and you will get a more accurate date on when they will be done
