I need a helmet and some Hawk HPS pads for the Z by this weekend. Any suggestions?

you should be able to pick up any motorcycle helmet from the local cycle stores. If you're looking specific car helments, I think some of the guys bought theirs from the place in Oakland. I guess wait for them to chime in.

As far as the HPS pads, check with Rob @ Zcar garage, they sometime stocks some pads.

http://www.bellmotorsports.com/

These guys are in Oakland. It's a small shop, so don't expect a large selection. I would call and confirm that they have what you're looking for prior to heading out there.

+1 on http://www.bellmotorsports.com/, and although their store front is tiny (because they mostly sell online), the back room is a huge warehouse with huge inventory. Check their site first, select the helmet you want and simply call them.

Also, be careful getting a motorcycle helmet because more and more high speed driving schools require car helmets now (SA2000 instead of just Snell2000).

Thanks guys. I emailed Rob to see if he had any of the pads in stock. Checking out Bell website now.

Yellow Stealth--Trying to get a last minute slot for the Trackmasters two-day at Reno Fernley. You going?

I haven't planned on going. I just took my Stealth to ThunderHill a little over a week ago and ate through my brake pads, so giving the car a little break right now.

Regarding Bell (actually now called Pyrotect), I went there once and dealth with Robbie Matthews who is apparently the grandson of the person who started Bell. He was very helpful and very friendly, so feel free to ask for him.

http://www.bellmotorsports.com/ These guys in Oakland are great. As stated their storefront is very small but they have a large inventory. I just got a new helmet from them, it was their full face SA2000 Pyrotect for 249.00, great deal. If you are looking for an open face, they did have super low prices on a set of black helmets that had the wrong color liner put in. Their mistake could be your savings

Again, thanks to everyone for the suggestions; that's what makes this board so great.

apharmdb--I got the same helmet. Also, please see my post re: the service I received from the boys in Oakland. You were completely on the mark. I couldn't be happier with the price or the service.

Yellow Stealth--I haven't been to the track since December and the prices for this event were too good to pass up, $165 for one-day, $280 for two...even though it's near Reno. Although, I'm a little worried they ran out of space since I haven't heard anything back from Trackmasters yet.
