I've got a twin turbo, and 3rd gear grind has finally hit me after 25,000 miles. Ted at Scott Performance believes that no Nissan dealership will replace my tranny under warranty, but as per the Moss-Magnuson act I believe that the extra power didn't harm my tranny. Indeed there are tens of thousands of Z's that are stock and still have 3rd gear grind.

That said, is anyone aware of a place that will be mod-friendly when it comes to fixing my transmission ? Better yet, anyone have their own tranny replaced on a modified Z ?

Aw cmon, nobody?? DAMMIT I KNOW SOMEONE REPLACED THEIR TRANNY

 

I wish they would replace my tranny... it has made funny noises and hard shifts every time I am NOT at the dealer.

Sorry I can't help... though I do know the guys up in Petaluma (Northbay Nissan) have a Stillen Supercharged Z, so they might be a little more "mod friendly"

 

I had my tranny replaced, but my mods are limited to Exhaust and Y-pipe.
