Hey, glad you're ok, but since you actually blacked out, please go and get checked out by an independent physician ASAP. If you have a lingering headache and you blacked out, there could be some hidden physical damage to your body. It's not worth playing around with this stuff. I'm sure the ER checked you out, but I'd get another consult just to make sure.

Good thing you alright...but anyway this accident is still in you favor. You could get a new Z, or since you already drove a Z once you could use that money getting something else. A Boxster would be good, anyway just an advise to you....stay from the RX-8. I own one before, I like the look at first that why i bought it. Then the more i drove it, i realize "this is a really sh!tty car ". Long story short, I sold it after 2 months.

Thanks again guys. I've gone to see my Doctor yesterday and they did a bunch (loss count) of X-Rays and 2 vertebreas (sp?) at the base of my skull are tweaked out of alignment..30 degrees to be exact. Apparently the force of the hit launched me up into the roof that squished my head down onto my neck. "This is a better injury than a full on whiplash." WTF!!?? But I can see his point..sorta. The force was distributed and contained rather than being whipped around like a loose ball on a string??

Last night was the worse night so far. Even the vicodin didn't help. But today is a better day so far. Been cruising on Craigslist for another Z! Been looking at the '06 Z's too!

Wife says I'm feeling better...hmm, won't feel better until there's another Z in the garage!

Very glad to hear you are doing better. Z's are definately made with the driver in mind. I haven't heard of very serious injuries even in front collission incidents.

Now make plans to take off any mods to switch to your future car.

Man, glad to hear youre ok. Last year, I was rear ended (I was driving my 94 civic) by a drunk driver. I was stopped at a light, and that fool plowed into me and caused me to hit the car in front of me. I didnt even see it coming, and BAM! wtf??!! That fool was drunk! It wasnt even his minivan. My insurance was good to me. I also went to the ER that night and got checked out. Luckily it was just muscle spasms and nothing too serious. It really hurt the next day, and I was sore for about 2 weeks. Make sure you keep all your medical bill/records and what not so you can get reimbursed by the other persons insurance. I, unfortunately had to take it to court to get my money, also, had to go to court because it was a D.U.I. for him and he plead not guilty. He ended up getting the book thrown at him. Hope you feel better and get all the money you are entitled too. Also, if you have to miss work, (like i did) sue him for the days you missed. And my advice would be to go to a chiropractor, even if you dont think you need to. Youll feel alot better, and keep copies of all paperwork so you will get reimbursed by their insurance, and or like I had to, take him to court and youll get your money.

Missed this thread the first time, but glad to hear that things worked out for you and that you are not in a world of hurt.

I still have [periodic] radiating chest and shoulder pain from an incident 5 years ago...

Sorry to hear this! Make sure your health is OK before you settle with the insurance Co. that you have no internal injuries. Get a good checkup as soon as you can.

As a former claims rep, I can tell you right now that a lawyer may or may not be needed, depending on if the guy had insurance or not and if he has enough coverage for everyone involved. You probably already got one though, since this happened earlier in the month. The reason I say it may not be necessary, is because the lawyers usually make the process take longer. Insurance companies are NOT afraid of lawyers, so don't think that your settlement will be higher just because you have one. With your damage and current medical state, I doubt they'd try and screw you.

Gratz on the new ride, hope you get better soon.

Thanks to all of you guys and gals here on this thread for all the great wishes, tips and pointers. I can tell you that I've been learning a hellava lot about insurance companies and so far it's been good (crossing fingers and toes...eyes too when the moment arises). I have thought about getting a lawyer (many friends have suggested this) but at the moment nothing negative has prompt me to hire one..yet. I plan to seek one out just for a consultation and see where it goes from there. I have been seeing a Chiropractor 2 a week and my regular Doctor on a monthly bases just to make sure everything in my head is still there. I am very aware that the injuries I received could effect me in years to come.

Oh, yes the "other" guy has insurance and they've been in touch with me already. The police report states VERY clearly he was at fault.
