Default When is this rain going to stop? Need to wash the Z!

This Bay Area rain has been killing me lately! My Z is dirty as heck.. mud all along the sides and rain spots all over. The wheels are pretty black from the asbestos. I water hosed all the mud off, but the brown residue is still there. It seems like it's been raining/showering at least twice a week for the past month so I really don't want to give my baby a nice car wash only to have it get dirty the next day. What has everyone else been doing lately? It's going to rain a lot this weekend and shower next week on Wednesday..

A quick wash, even though it's going to rain later, is good practice. The road oils and chemicals that settle on the car, are continually doing small damage to your finish. They take their toll over time. Brake dust embeds in the clearcoat, birds droppings and acid rain eat into your clearcoat. I checked out the paint on a new car, I was thinking about buying, with magnifying loop. The car had been sitting on the lot for 6 months, and appeared to not have been washed often. There were millions of tiny pits in the clearcoat that, under magnification, looked like meteorite craters with meteors in the middle. An amazing site. Anyway, my point is that that residue, you're talking about, is bad stuff. Claying your car, after the season, would be in order.
