On the way home today, I saw an eclipse pulled over to the side with the hood open...and a cop looking inside with a flashlight. So I immediately turned off the road and took the long way home. This was on University Avenue in Palo Alto.

Cops still actively checking in the bay area? I thought they were only this persistant in Sacramento...

 

I would hate to hear of you FI guys getting pulled and requiring the removal of the FI kits beside those carb legal kits. I would imagine what a headache that would be and the cost of the removal of such.

 

well, it was first the whole night racing thing in milpitas and that got shut down then it was in san francisco/brisbane/3com then that got shut down and now its in oakland from the last i heard and they pretty much effectivly shut it down. Then it was quite for a while and the whole circle starts again and again with new places. And to top it off, we got the ghost ridin going around....

so yea.... seems like it would only be natural for a cop to activly seek modified cars just to keep down the illegal activities. Places known for trouble or urban/ghetto kids will usually have the cops looking. Places like SF will have much less. Thats my .02

 

Thats why I have stayed pretty legal, but now Vortec is CARB legal so I'm thinking about it.

 

They're cracking down everywhere in CA. In fact, Riverside just got a grant for $350k to form an anti-street racing unit that would patrol the entire Central Valley.
