Anyone know of a body shop that could cut vents into my OEM hood?

Anything ever happen with this stateside? I'd love to get this done at some point.

PS: this thread should be moved to the interior/exterior section.

I'd actually prefer a hood scoop to vents cut into the car. I'd think a hood scoop would be better in bringing cool air into the engine compartment than vents would be.

Not to mention it would keep your engine cleaner.

Completely different purpose. Vents aren't to get cool air in, they're to let hot air out. Scoops just don't look right on the Z, IMO.

You did that yourself with e Dremel??? Damn, I'm pretty good with my trusty Dremel, but I don't think I'd trust myself to do that...

Did you repaint the hood or just touch up the edges?

Also, how rigid are the vents? I'm a little concerned that the metal strips in between the holes will be really thin and delicate, thus bend easily...

Yeah, all with a dremel. I did it on a extra CF hood I had so the hood was repainted afterwards.

Ah, ok; the CF would be nice and rigid and pretty easy to dremel. I'd worry about the rigidity of the slats on the OEM hood, though. Suck to accidentally warp or bend one while just polishing the car...
