Hey guys:
Just a reminder to be safe out there on the roads. It has been a while since I did the famous Doc Wong Drive (http://www.docwong.com/Autos/) so I went out for the run today. There was a guy in a new Mazda RX-8 driving behind me . I could see him in my rearview getting a little out of control when we were going down Jameson Creek Rd. I tapped my brakes a few times to let him know he may want to back off a bit. A few turns later he spun out, rolled his car and landed in a ditch on the side of the road. He totalled the car. Amazingly he and his passenger were not hurt. Just a reminder to drive within your skill level and be safe out there, especially on runs like these. All it takes is a split second and it's over. This is the third time now that I have been on this run when one of our cars was involved an accident. I was going to take a picture of the outcome, but I felt so bad (for the guy) that I decided not too.

And lets add to the "drive safe" rule of thumb... Drive SOBER... Just a couple of nights ago there was a pretty horrendous wreck here in the East Bay. A guys was heading home (680 North) from a bar in Walnut Creek. He was completely tanked and lost control of his Ford Expedition on the curve that goes under the Hwy 242 overpass, right after the 242 split. He bounced of both rails before heading off the road and into the ditch just past the curve. Luckily there wasn't anyone close enough, and he did no damage other than his truck. He was even ok, but was really drunk and could've involved another car, or perhaps even killed himself or someone else...
Be safe out there folks, not only in your own actions, but also watch out for others..

those doc wongs drives scare me. i was following a porsche on one of those trips... and it lost control too. i think ppl get too crazy for their skill levels. ppl should always drive their skill level, save the experimenting for the track.
