Default My Z took a beating last night.

I've had my Z for 3 years and last night the road betrayed us (My Z and I).

I was on the the 4th street 101 S onramp. The road took out my back traction ane ended sliding sideways against the wall.

There must have been some kind of fluid on the road because 5 minutes after I hit the wall another car did a 360 and ended on the median between the onramp and the freeway.

Had to get the car towed because the tires were rubbing and the cooling fan was hitting something.

Be safe out there.

doesn't look totaled. 4.5k in damage, my prediction. Maybe a little less.

Yeah, damage doesn't look *too* bad. It would be a lot better if it was just the front bumper which you could probably replace for cheap. But looks like you got part of the front fender, hood, and maybe the headlight.

OOOOOOOOuch! That hurts! I'm sorry about that. That is just a bummer man. It looks like you just missed your rims and wheels. Double check the frame.

I went back to the scene and I deduced that rubber strips that have been placed at the beginning of the turn cause cars to lose traction during wet conditions. The rubber strips are the kind that are used by traffic departments before deciding to place some sort of traffic light to control traffic. I am thinking of submitting a claim to caltrans.

There were at least other 3 accidents at the same location on Saturday and a couple more on Sunday. Already e-mailed caltrans to report my suspicions.

A few pics from the shop. Had to get the hood cut open to release it.
