FENDER ROLLING and... in San Jose
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone knew a good place to get ones fenders rolled...and possibly get springs installed, and maybe some Wheels and tires installed.
I heard Z garage is a good place. but does anyone know if these do these?
Or even another other place you guy would recommend.
Thank you so much,
--Chris

KarToyz does fender rolling and has plenty of experience mounting tires on expensive rims. Tell them John sent you.

No idea what Kar Toyz charges. I'd just give them a call.
I haven't had my fenders rolled, but I know a few people that have had it done there. I did have Kar Toyz mount tires for me. They did a good job and were careful with the rims.

I just called Z car garage and they do not do fender Rolling so Rob Referred 2 other place that do:
1. Speed merchant (350z) $140 both
2. California wheels (350z) $75 Per Fender = $150 for both.

I suppose QUALITY is the key aspect in terms of what to look for in deciding a good fender rolling shop specifically for the Z car; anyone have experience with either of the above shops?

The key is to go slowly and apply copious amounts of heat to the paint. That should soften it enough to roll without cracking.
[EDIT]Just read the write-up accordfreak did on G35Driver.com. Do it exactly like he illustrates and take your time.[/EDIT]

Speed Merchant is geared towards domestics mostly, so their staff are generally more inclined towards the small-block crowds. I had work done there several times with my past two cars and the work quality is good, and price is generally cheap. Mind you, all I had was just exhaust work, nothing crazy.
They do have a dyno, but I have not heard of any reviews regarding their tuning skills. Look at them as a general purpose car shop that can do some services for you along with selling you parts. If you have a domestic, you'd probably know more about them.

Speedmerchants is a good shop for race stuff (tape, Motul, etc.) that you can't wait for (i.e. order online cheaper), race gas by the 5-gal jug, etc. The guys there are pretty cool. They tried to roll the fenders on my Z32 though, and were unable to even though they had done other Z32s in the past. I was happy that they stopped when they saw a problem (buckling), but wasn't happy that they wanted to charge me for "trying". It all worked out in the end though.
