Default Pikes Peak White paint matching

I met up with Ed from Quality Dents and he said the metal has stretched and did not want to risk working on it because he's a perfectionist and wants to guarantee his work.

I've asked 2 bodyshops and both have quoted me $2K to $2.3K just to fix the dent and pretty much paint and blend the whole passenger side of the car.

My question is: if I pick up door a stock used, how much variation should I expect? Should I do it? Any pros and cons?

Anyone know of where to look for one? Have one lying around?

You can go CF doors. if not i think i would get the dent fix and painted. buyin another door thats already PPW wont match the surrounding pearl color.

Dont just get a new door that is already painted. Like Chineseguy said...it won't match the rest of the body. PPW is one hard color to match... PPW has three coats to it. I know from experience because i saw my friend paint my lip. The first time, the white was too bright...the second time the white matched better but he ended up putting too much pearl in it.

lol you might end up screwing yourself if the paint doesnt match because you will have to keep repainting it and that might add up to the whole costs just to get the doors fixed. go with CF doors =D

That's the dilemma right now . . . do I take the chance with $700-800 or wait until I want to blow 2k on fixing it. I can't go through ins since it's already high enough from my first totaled z last year.

No CF . . . trying ot keep it bone stock these days.

PPW is why i will probably just be completely repainting my car if i ever get a body kit...now just to find a shop that will paint it to my satisfaction. This will also give me the opportunity to make it a little brighter, which i like.

The Best, Very best place I have ever seen paint work and body work done in the entire Sacramento area, is Tomlinsons in Auburn. They only do high end vehicles, mainly Porche, and they always have exotics in there. I had my Pearl Z greddy rear and side skirts pu on there, rear wing added, and a huge scratch, (a piece of a metal bumper was on the highway, got ran over by a big rig, flew up and hit my hood) dented the hell out of it, scratched deep like a huge section of the hood. Thought I would have to replace hood for sure, but they fixed and I cannot tell it was ever there, they paint match is phenomenal. I searched for a long time because I was also worried about paint match, but will never take my car anywhere else ever again!
