Hey Bing,

Is this a special occasion?

The wine train is always popular.

There are a lot of beautiful places that aren't overrun with tourists that you can go to, I recommend:

Kuleto Estate http://www.kuleto.com/winery.htm (excellent Sangiovese and Zinfandel, and breathtaking view, my personal fav)

Stags Leap http://www.stagsleapwinery.com/ (excellent Cab Sauv)

Honig http://www.honigwine.com/ (some good port, if you like that stuff)

Steltzner http://www.steltzner.com/ (excellent Cab)

Clos Du Val http://www.closduval.com/ (cool winery)

Keep in mind that most of these places and others you need to call in advance. Hope you have a good time.

Wine train....sigh, not really impressive. For lunch I loved Mustards grill, kinda pricey but not too bad for napa. I am not into the wine country seen but your safe making a trip from 29 in napa and looping around to silverado trail for a wonderfull view and almost every decent winery is along the way.

Oh forgot to mention, if your hungry go to Brix, I believe its right on 29 there, excellent food. I recommend the steak with garlic potatos and asparagus.

Well, I guess the train is not for everyone. The only reason why I suggested it is because I took my mom there & she enjoyed it. Plus I was suggested by others that is was a good relaxing "family" thing to do if you really don't want to do the winery bit.

Anyways, taking 29 is definitely the way to go if you want to drive & stop at all the little shops & wineries.

dudes, thanks for the recommendation on cindy's backstreet kitchen!!

hands down someof hte best food at that price range i have ever had! and a niec relaxed setting!

overall it was nice, we toured rubicon/coppola and drove around the 29/silverrado loop, was going to go to sterling but then saw the cable car went up like 100 feet (we through it was on a cliff or something lol) and decided not to go...

good times though hella hot...
