Question I need a place to replace my windshield...

Can anyone recommend a place around vallejo, concord area that will do a good job with the replacement? I was driving to school and a rock thrown out from under a van in another lane got me this morning

This sucks.

I know how you feel because the same thing happened to my Z Roadster a day before yesterday. I was driving to work on 24E near Orinda, and a rock hit my windshield. I now have a 3/4 inch spider-looking break slightly to the right of the driver's line of sight.

I am looking for local windshield replacement shops as well. Most of them will come out to your home or work, and will replace your windshield right there, so shop location isn't much of an issue.

I will let you know what I find, but it would be nice to get some recemmendations/references from local board members as well.

Need to get mine replaced as well. After a long night of drinking, I was driving my friend home and he wigged out and started punching the windshield from inside... regardless to say the whole passenger side of my windshield is covered in spider cracks. A friend of a friend quoted me $160 installed for a new one though, which my friend is paying for! Cheapest I've found. If you're willing to drive to Sacramento let me know!

Called a place called Acme Auto Glass (888-277-1666 or 925-274-1733). They are mobile and will come to you to replace the windshield. The guy said that he will work directly with the insurance company, and will split the cost of my comprehensive deductible, so my cost would be $125.

I forgot to ask if they use OEM windshields, or if the price he quoted was for the aftermarket, although I'm not sure if it makes any difference since they have lifetime guarantee against leaks, defects, and workmanship.

There are some good deals on craigslist but I don't know how reputable they are. Aftermarket/OEM doesn't matter. They all crack if something hits them

Personally i dont want the oem one. A nice aftermarket one would likely be stronger.
