I agree, the front end definitely looks better w/o a plate. Especially on our cars, since the car is small, the plate looks HUGE! On SUV's the front plate looks much smaller and doesn't stick out so much. I would just take it off after I get my ticket signed off, but, frankly, I'm getting tired of being paranoid every time I see bacon.

I'm already thinking about taking off my tints, since I HATE getting rolled on. I had my son in the car w/ me when I got pulled over for the plate. The cop had a field day trying to find stuff on me.
He asked if the car was stolen; why I had my windows rolled down (hint: tints); sweated me for the plastic cover I have over my rear plate--he actually asked if I use it to run red lights and toll booths--tried to measure how low my front bumper was from the ground; and he checked my vin# on the windshield and the doors to see if they matched! I mean, it's not like my car was reported stolen or anything!

He had me on the side of the road--right across the street from my son's elementary school--for near an hour. Aside from minor aesthetics, my car is stock!

I zip tied my plate to the grill about a year ago after getting a no front plate and just left it on. It no longer bothers me and not getting a second glance from po works just fine. Plus . . . it's not like leaving it off is really going to help the fuel efficiency. Better airflow or not, it's doesn't save any on the $4.25/gal.

I guess I must just be lucky but I have not had a front plate on my cars for about 15 years. My Stealth never had a front plate, my Z has no front plate and my Miata goes plateless. For some reason, the police never give me a second glance. Maybe they ignore me because I'm getting old.
