^ can't go to tire shops, only the dealership can reprogram them (from what've read in the forum).

I am about to do this tomorrow. When I set up the appointment, I asked them how much and the service adviser said $38. I will ask tomorrow if that's for 1 tpms reset or for all 4...dealers could be sneaky sometimes and I need to be sure.

Mine is San Leandro Nissan. I need to get an oil change tomorrow too...let me see if I can get it done free too. Even if not, $38 is still ok if it's for all 4.

--Edit. So I got to the dealership and the service adviser quoted my $140 for the TPMS, says she needs to put that down on the estimate. So I said OK, I was gonna pay for a reset anyway. I also wanted an oil change too. So total estimate came out to be $180.

When it's all done, they only charged me for the oil change and nothing for the TPMS reset. So I am a happy customer. It was a 3 hour oil change, but still came out happy.

so did she tell you before hand that it was $140 to do the reset or she'll put down 140 but it will be free of charge? they usually charge what the estimate was for....

Sorry for not being clear. I paid $40 for the oil change and nothing for the reset. I was kind of surprised too when she didn't charge me. It's weird at San Leandro Nissan. They give estimates, but rarely do they charge the full estimated amount.

Last time I went there, I wanted them to tighten a bolt that was causing a rattle. Estimate was $70 and ended up paying $30.

Anyway, I was expecting and willing to pay around $100 for the TPMS reset...but turned out to be free.

The hard copy estimate I got was actually $180 ($140 for the reset plus $40 for the oil change), but for whatever reason, she said they did the reset for free.

Yeah, mine works. It took a while for the reading to register...maybe took about 30 miles or so, but they work. Main thing that bothered me was the warning light on the cluster. Now the warning light is off and I am happy again.
