This is a track day, where you can take your car to thunderhill raceway to learn the basics of high performace driving. First timers get an instructor in their car. It's a great way to learn the limits of your car in a safe controlled environment (ie no soccer moms on cell phones swerving into your lane, or police cruisers)

I <3 HOD and David R., but I enjoy taking passengers for a ride in my car. It is for that reason that I have basically stopped driving with HOD. For a good instructional day, HOD is where it's at. For a track day of fun with friends chasing each other around and giving ride-alongs, it's not the ideal venue.

Do you really cart people all the way up to thunderhill just for a ride along? I've had people meet me at Infineon but that's much closer to home and has more attractions than Wal-Mart close by. I took my wife to one event and she was bored out of her mind (except for the one ride along I gave her which made her sick).

Any of you guys have a problem with turn 11? I always think I can take it a little harder. I know its a slow turn...but you know the feeling when you are running so well that you just push it a little bit harder.

My history

1. lots and lots of understeering and missed the apex.

2. really over cooked it and understeered...had to use the safety zone behind the barrels....or i'd be in the barrels.

3. try to really force the car into the turn and did a tank slapper.

I really should burn into my head to take that turn sloooooowwww... rest of the track i'm fine.

I wish I can go...but can never get out of work for a weekday trackday.
