Default Donut F*** up

Hey Guys,

So I have about 25k miles on my HR and my rears were starting to really get low on tread so I decided to have my tires replaced.

But then I had this awesome idea to do some donuts (in an empty parking lot) before I got new tires on

Once I had my fun...I noticed that steering was really hard and there was fluid leaking out from under the front. Also my engine bay was smoking (but heat level was normal)...so I opened up the hood to find liquid splattered all over.

I checked the white canister on the left side and it was pretty much empty and I guess I lost all my steering fluid. I've left the car at my mechanic and I'll know for sure what's wrong on Monday.

But in the meantime can anyone tell me what could be the cause of the leaks...pump/hose/anything else? and also how much I can expect to pay for this.

Flame Suit on! Will post vids once I have the strength to see them myself

Oh and I'm 26 and have had my car for 3 years no issues. So I'm not stupidly reckless...I just never thought so much could go wrong doing donuts

Were you doing donuts in one direction? Or were you doing them in a figure 8 motion?

Just post the video

most likely not a leak. may be a boil over where it get too hot or you were turing that way and it just leaked out theres no real seal on the res. no big deal just re fill and continue normal life unless it contiues to leak out.

Ima take a wild guess and say that you had the steering locked to one side while you were doing the donuts. Not a good idea. Probably blew a power steering line.

Did this in my Tahoe a couple years ago. Blew the pump though. I noticed when turned full lock, there was a different noise under the hood.

I did some good ones here couple of months back, and no issues, with the supercharger just a raising cane(power) to burn. Not a single problem. I would agree above that it's a hose, or just a cap not tight. That's what warranties are for, thank goodness you made it on time. The next best thing is, warranty up, you have an excellent shop by you, "ZCargarage", owned by Rob and he knows the "Z" inside out and upside down. Anytime you have a problem, want a mod done, or just plain oil changes. He will answer the phone him self and has his website. He answers emails within 24 hrs also. website: ZCargarage.com.
Good to hear your car is taken care of by the warranty.
