Default Smog question?

I was under the impression that you had to get a smog test every year in California? Is that not the case?

I brought my car into the state from Colorado earlier this year when I moved, so I had to have it smogged to get CA plates.

The other day I got renewal information for my plates and it doesn't appear to require another smog test.

Is this common? How often do the rest of you guys have to get a smog test?

Its stuck on a two year schedule from the sixth year after production. If you move into the state they require even if the car is brand new! You were lucky with your year because if you move in on an off scheduled year you will have to smog it next year too. Also if any one needs smog around the bay im in oakland. I cant pass anything dirty though.

I will miss that event, but I'll make most of them after that.

5200 Telegraph Ave Oakland 8-6 M-F 9-4 Sat

$40 is the best price I can sneak through. In-ground dyno so lowered is no problem.

Wish I'd made the drive to Marina; weekend sucked otherwise.

Do you work there and does that include the certificate? Mine is also due in February so I would consider making the trip over to Oakland to give someone from our community my business (as small as it may be).

Yeah I work there and I'll throw the cert in at that price. Our regular price is $99.95 (Yes the owner is on crack). I'm super paranoid about BAR so please no non-CARB approved parts unless I can't see them. BAR bought a 240SX with a V8 swap off craigslist last year and busted the tech who smogged it last. They could theoretically use your sig line in court against me if I passed your car with the spacer on it. I really hate those douches!
Otherwise its the easiest job in the world. Could pay more though.
