Default Good body shops in the Bay Area.

I recently was backed into and I'm looking for a good body shop in the Bay Area to have the front end work done. I was also rear-ended at the end of August and was extremely disappointed with the paint matching and overall quality of the job that Cook's Auto Body in Dublin did. They tried three times to get it right and failed. I have been fighting with Farmers Insurance ever since. They have agreed to respray the back bumper. Unfortunately Farmers will not replace that bumper, but I'm not done fighting them yet.

I'm hoping that someone here can refer me to a shop with a good reputation that can match the Daytona Blue paint and get it right the first time.

Thanks

Cooks is one of the most reputatible shops around, I'm surprised that they weren't able to do a good job. Just to let you know, the bumper color will never match the color of the body because of different material between the bumper and the body. Try B&S autobody, heard they're pretty good also. Goodluck.

bz8.

I was told the same but it was the worst paint match I've ever seen. The first time they had so much metallic flake in the paint that it looked more like a paint job that belonged on a bass fishing boat than my Z. The second time they just missed the color altogether and there was a few runs in the clear. The third time was the worst... Color was way off and there were scratches and bugs under the clear. Where is B&S autobody?

B&S is around I believe on Tasajara. I don't have their exact location, check the directory.

Default Five Star Autobody

Call Five Star Autobody in San Bruno: (650) 952-5303, tell them you are from this board and I referred you. It is my dad's body shop and he will do a good job on your car. He painted my brickyard earlier this year and the paint match is perfect. Let me know if you have any questions.

Pasha, thanks for the info and I'll try calling tomorrow. The girl who hit me has insurance and my insurance will cover the respray of the back. I'm still fighting with my insurance over the replacement of the rear bumper because two body shops have refused to paint it and guarantee the work since it has already been sprayed at least three times.

Has your dad painted a Daytone Blue Z?

I've heard great things about Anthony's in San Rafael. Might be a trip for you but I know lots of folks who've gone there and had nothing but good things to say. Good luck.

Any good place in the Southbay? I bought a CF front diffuser (OMG, painting over CF? Blaspheme!) and Amuse fenders that I need to get painted. The only decent shop I know of around here is Kuykendalls in Sunnyvale, but I was hoping that someone knows another place that's really good.

It's still on a boat, but it should get here by January.

I got the fenders because they are supposedly less than half the weight of normal fenders, which is great cause the front end could lose a little weight. I'm not a big fan of the M3 styled-side grills, so I might get it plugged up and sanded down. Next on the list is the cf rear hatch!
