I might consider taking Icy to the track, after what happened as described in the "garh!!" thread. But now $$$ is definitely the issue; gotta save up for not only the event, but also possibly new tires for after the event.

I've never been to the track but am taking steps towards that goal. Going to take the BMW clinic that's coming up in SF then going out with some co-workers to Thunderhill for an instruction day that's coming up. Exposure should give me an idea whether it's something I want to do more.

i want to go to the track everyday
I want to vote for numbers one and two and four and six.
I would track my car every chance I had if it wasn't so expensive but it's only expensive cause I don't have much money and I don't have much of it because i'm lazy. So... effectively, I vote for all of those.

Noop, I live in Sunnyvale. Sears point is about two hours from here. If anyone on this board wins the lottery, please think about making a track somewhere in the Bay Area, like Fremont or something.

Saturday I went that drift day at sears point... it was okay. The day started with skidpad (donuts) and then progressed to a very short coned course on the paddock. On a scale of one to ten, I'd probably give it a four.
The main problem was actual drive time. There were about 40 people there which equated to about 20 minutes of waiting for about 20 seconds of driving. And that was when your group was up!!!! ARGH! The only saving grace was that it was only 50 bones (no membership fees!)...
Unfortunately, while 50 dollars may not be much in the automotive world, it is still a lot of money to put down for about five minutes of track time.
The time out was fun though so it begs the question, "Will I do it again..." I'd have to say that I probably wouldn't... but I reserve the right to reconsider. hehe.
