ok, possible Cusco GB forming.
Just want to get a count so I can start calling around. Please confirm or ask me to take you off this list. If you like to be add to this list, just post here. Until I get some kind of pricing or confirmation on who is in, this will be an informal group buy. Once I get more finalized info, I'll open this GB out to the entire board.
This is for a set front/rear of Cusco Sway bars.
These are the people that showed some interested from my other thread:
1. Whatever (In)
2. Moodie (In)
3. mgl (pending on price)
4. apharmdb (?)
5. Bz8 (I know you want at least one!!)

eh... put me down too... maybe...
have there been any spring rate comparisons between brands? I've got nismo's now... but have a feeling they could be much stronger...
anyone have any gut feelings or substantiated claims as to which set are the stiffest?

3 questions:
whats the difference between hollow and non-hollow(solid) bars??
does the cusco make noise (squeeking), i heard the 350evo bars do. does the hotchkis make noise??
and whats a good stiffness setting for spirited street driving (and running from the cops )??

you save weight on hollow while sacrificing stiffness and vice versa. But I'm sure there is a threshold on how hollow you can go while maximizing the stiffness. From many of the posts I read, stiffer is not always better. It all ends up on how you would like your car to perform (either on the track or on the street).
From riding with Jason, I didn't hear the cusco making any noises. No first hand experience with the hotchkis (or Hot Chiks as Yuichi would like to call them... )

the stock ones might be the best for running away from cops....

just doing some theorizing, don't take this as actual fact or info, I'm sure other guys on here can provide more sound advice.

my eyes hurt from all that reading.
still kinda confused on whether hollow or solid is better, being on the oem suspension. i'm sure with either would be an improvement from stock.

Any of you who are running springs or coilovers should definitely make this your next mod. I was running with just the Teins for about a month before adding the sways. Adding the sway bars was a HUGE difference- the suspension felt much more solid and easier to predict. I'm currently running the front Cusco bar on the stiffest setting.
George- I would keep the Nismo springs since you have them. Invest in a set of sway bars before swapping the springs. You should notice a nice difference and might want to keep the springs you already have after installing the sways.

Jason, I got the eibach (i'm cheap) springs a while ago and got nismo sways to compliment a few days later. Now I'm just looking for something a little more...
RE: hollow versus solid - I don't know if the weight savings is significant... i think the k is the only thing that matters.
RE: squeaks... do indeed come from the bushings. That is, the bar rubbing against the rubber/urethane/whatever compound. Just lube the bushings and it goes away.
back to the topic at hand: So I didn't do much research when I got the nismo sways.... none at all actually. So that's why I'm thinking of swapping. Seems like hotchkis are the way to go so far... no?

Nismos
Just so you know, Performance has always had the Nismos at a price of $385, so that might "sway" your decision. Ha ha I kill myself. No pun intended. Anyhoo, if you switch yours out Z ***** I might buy your Nismos if the price is right.
