Sorry to hear that Rie.
Anyways, there doesn't seem like too many people are interested in So-Cal, so I'm just going to focus on the NorCal meet/drive.

Ok, looks like we're pretty close on split for nice lunch or nice dinner. So I'm going to make the decision for a nice dinner.
This decision is primary base on our time table. So it's gonna be fast food lunch (In&Out) somewhere on US-101 or CA-1

The total trip is ~171.9 miles one way.
We will have meeting points right off 101 (Near Coyote Creek) to get everyone together. I'm sure there will also be a SF meet point as well as the usually Fremont meet point for the East bay folks.

We will drive until we get to the end of 101, somewhere on 156, or somewhere on CA -1. I will look up some fast food joints. Hopefully they will be near each other so we can split up to make lunch faster.

After that, we will drive down to Hearst Castle. Do the tour. Stop by mating Seals & otters (for bz8) and then head back to Monterey/Carmel for dinner. If anyone have any suggestion for Monterey/Carmel dinner, post here. If I don't hear any suggestions, I'll just post 3 that I find and we'll just pick one from that.

That's basically the walk through for the day. I'm now gonna do some calculation of the time table and find the specific meet points and post a more detail schedule. PM or post here if anyone have any suggestions/ideas!!

BZ8 has to leave his cargo net at home the seals are protected. You can not lasso them with the net.

This sounds like a very nice trip. Looking forward to meeting you all again. Went to Santa Cruz that was a great trip.....

I'd suggest this place on Cannery Row for dinner, but I forgot the name of the place. They have the coolest pina colada (comes in a carved-out pineapple!); they're near that bust of John Steinbeck.

I think I'm going to end up staying down there rather than traveling back up the same night. I guess it'll be time for another much needed vacation

We can also have dinner and watch sunset (BZ8 can watch seals and otters mating instead) in Big Sur. I've heard that Nepenthe has nice food and great view. Check out http://www.nepenthebigsur.com/
Also, Whaling Station in Monterey http://restauranteur.com/whalingstation/

Hi Dave! ya, plans aren't going as smoothly as I had hoped down here... good news is school is set and got my classes, just need a freaking job now *sigh* you sound like you have a really good itinerary for this and sad i wont be able to make it... the place on cannery row that henry took a pic of is a really good restaurant... i ate there when i was workin at world superbike at laguna seca last july... but sounds like a really nice drive/meet... the scenery, good company, watching the sea life (tony), well keep your fingers crossed for me (all of u) that my luck job hunting will turn around soon becuz rie & jaymee are going to be really really sad, even though we are already... have fun, be safe & i will be expecting lots of pictures, since i won't be there and you know how i am with my camera!
