Sure you can join in Jeremy....the more the better. You sure the route isn't too mundane for you . There won't be any jumps

When I said "over the hills" I just meant a way to get us to Hwy 29 from SR and was planning on Mark West. Fill me in on St. Helena Rd. Where does it start and end.

St. Helena rd is also called Spring Mountain rd, if that clears it up a bit, but it goes from the east side of SR(calistoga rd) out to St. Helena where it hits the 29, it will be less crowded than mark west on the weekend and LOTs of fun but still coil-over friendly. that pick of me is on Geysers rd, definitly NOT coil-over friendly, but I wouldnt take any of you guys down there

BTW this is going to be a HUGE drive, I dont know if you will get it all in one day

That sounds like a nice change.

I've been that route and took it "leisurely". Nice view of the hills.

It might be and may have to be shortened. I headed east because I thought it would draw some of the people out there but it hasn't so maybe it should be changed to something more local. The casino stop seemed like a nice diversion.

Any suggestions of a different route are welcome from anybody. There are a lot of combinations possible.

I'm from San Ramon (east bay). lets not shorten the Rt. lets make it longer . ie... the top of Rt. goes to a stay over then comes back down and those that can't make the first day meet up the second day . just a thought ----2 cents---

Don't fret man. I see that you'll have your baby back in August... just in time for the Sway Install/Car Wash/BBQ meet at 'Chelle's place...

I'm working on another route. Don't you still have to park someplace and get bused to River Rock? I know you meant to say hit the twisties and then wine tasting.....in that order

Oh! Z less. When you said Zless, I thought it was another one of those big words you and yobri throw around to confuse the rest of us.

If you can get up to Santa Rosa, Ill give you the ride of your life.
You are welcome to ride shotgun if you want.

I understand. Weekends are tough for most people.
It is the part of my life that I dislike the most.....not enough days in a weekend! Maybe not enough days period.

When I said 'ride of my life" I didn't necessarily mean that that would be a good thing.
Doesn't riding with an old guy who is probably driving 10-15 mph over his head, has questionable reflexes, and doing some kind of toe-toe thing with a 5AT sound like the ride of your life?

yeah, I think a 2-day trip would scare off alot of people, also It ince to have stops at least every hour on drives like this.I think St. Helena then up Silverado to 29(or Butts Canyon!) to middletown, theres that casino right there

From this point, (if it were me) I would take the 175 up through bottle rock to kelseyville, the 175 will take you straight out to Hopland but if your adventurous you can loop down to Old Toll Rd to take into Hopland.

At this point there will certainly be people ready to go home since Hopland is a good 2-3 hour drive back to those from the east and south bay, but for those that want a little more drive, they can follow me onto geysers road(w00t!) which is right off the freeway and still points north to south so it will only put you about an hour behind, and its one of the best roads you will ever drive, I mean it

but thats just my opinion...

BTW, we usually meet at the Santa Rosa Krispy Kreme(SRKK for the locals ) since its right off the freeway, easy for out of towners to find, and, well, they have donuts there.

Oh yeah, also an OMGHI2U cute girl working there now.

Jeremy - You guys still meeting there once a week with the scooby kids? I always seem to drive by, see a buncha imports, and a buncha cops talking to them...

I just keep on driving...

Oh, and cuties that work there are definatly a plus

Last time I went out Geysers road, I didn't go all the way... is there still that "dirt" section where the pavement drops away like a cliff? Not many Z's, even at stock height could manage that one...

heh, we only meet about once a month there before drives on the weekends, but yeah I think a bunch of hood rats hang out there on the weeknights, thats just what you do before your old enough to hang out in bars at night

and year, geysers road past the resort will be too much for 350s, Skaggs would be nice and is on the way back, if anyone wants to hit the coast ,that would be ALOT more driving though, Im down for anything, guess we should all see how we feel when we get to Hopland

Oh my bad, I thought you meant you were gonna hook me up with some young lady who's gonna end up being the "ride of my life". BTW, I've been scared to look at the Z Babes thread because I can actually check this site at work now!

I've got a tentative revised route that will be much shorter but should still give us some good roads. I was going to run it this weekend to check time and distance.

It would still be in the St. Helena/Pope Valley area to start then north towards Geyserville on 128. Stop at River Rock and on to Lake Sonoma. Then south via Dry Creek and Westside to River Rd.
(the end?).

If anybody wanted more we could head out 116 to the coast.

Another option would be from Lake Sonoma take Skaggs to the coast then south. Like Kinkov said it would add a bunch of extra time to the drive.

What time do you people want to meet up? I was thinking
9:30-10 (for you late night party animals ). Earlier would be nice but then I'm probably the only early bird here.
