Default HELP: Keyboard install for Toshiba Laptop

Does anyone know where i can get this installed for a reasonable price? FRY'S is charging me $65 bucks, which seems ridiculous... or is it?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

You should be able to install the keyboard on the laptop pretty easily. The keyboard is held in by the outside housing case and its connected by a flat cable (forget the term here). Its a thin cable that connects just below on top of your motherboard.

its kinda difficult to explain over the net...

Did you spill some stuff on your laptop ?

Im tempted to pry it open and install it myself, but im not good at putting things together after breakin em apart

My brother from germany gave me his laptop, and the Euro keyboard is slightly different so i bought a US spec... i can use the Euro one on, but locating the punctuations gets annoying

Thanks for the help

there should be 4 screws on the back of the laptop that holds down the front brackets. Perhaps more, they are usually hidden underneath the rubber mounts so you would have to pry them off first.

the part that you need be careful is taking off the outer cover. once off your good to go. the keyboard will just come off without a problem and underneath the keyboard, just unplug it.

if your switching the keyboard from Euro to US, then you also need to change the settings on your OS. Just a little headsup

Thanks, yeah its been converted and thats how im able to use the keyboard in the meantime... i just have to imagine its our regular US keyboard and not pay attention to the characters on it...

as far as opening it myself... if i cant find anyone who can do it for me for a reasonable price... ill go that route and try it myself...

Thanks James

how about for free?
ok since you insist, I'll do it for a beer

what brand of laptop? I can take a wack at it if you want to meet up.
they are usually not that hard to replace. Just have to find the right screws to take out.
bring it by if you're in my neighborhood.
