Hey everyone I need some help and some input on a school matter possibly involving a car show for charity. For a class called Cornerstone (@ UCF) I need to fund raise to make a terminally ill child's wish come true. We have a few fundraisers lined up but i wanted to see if anyone on our forum had any other ideas to raise some funding. I am thinking of putting together a charity car show and was wondering what everyone in our club thought of the idea. Thanks for any and all input on the matter at hand guys i appreciate it. The goal is to raise atleast $2000 ultimately before april.

Count me in bro, what ever I can do to help for a good cause i'm there... I would get with Stephen I belive he had d same class last year also.

 

I had that class when I was at UCF. You can raise ALOT of money from standing outside publix in a good area believe it or not. We raised like $500 in a few hrs. Car washes are also pretty good to do. Esp if you advertise it on a few forums. Car shows dont really bring in that much money unless you advertise on a ton of car forums. If you go that route you should do a cruise route and have a raffle/show at the end destination. My friends did that and raised a ton of money. Charge like $10 a car for the cruise registration and $5 for a few raffle tickets. You could raffle off car detailing products etc.

Ill have a couple more people that dont own Z's to ride as well for this. Do it right and it will show. kinda like that old baseball movie.. umm Angels in the Outfield? lol

Yes but location and the day will be critical. People cant have any excuse to go do something else.

 

i can help! did this last semester actually with the help of the OZOC! like already stated dont do it on campus, location is key! make sure to go to local car and bike business's for sponsorships. and if you need trophies for anything let me know i have some extra's from my show but if you need any help to hesitate to ask! are you working with new hope and rosie?

 

Thanks for the help. I am definitely going to see about getting some sponsorships for a raffle give away. I doubt we will need the trophies for a car wash but thank you anyway. Yes im working with Rosie lol, We are hosting a poker tournament as well if any local OZOC members would like to come participate. Thanks for the help Aced. I am thinking of having the car wash at a large location like wal mart or a self service car wash place like i have seen off of colonial. Any other location Ideas?

 

cornerstone sucked!!! itook it when it was a 6 credit hour course... good luck with your fund raising, i know a lot of people will help you once you tell them it is for cornerstone

 

i highly recommend getting your location ASAP! i dont know of large areas besides walmart. If you need a lost of some good sponsors let me know i have my name out there (as Lou would say ) and can def help. Those kids are truly special, and keep us updated on the poker tourny!

hey everyone, im having a charity poker tournament at my house Feb 7th starting at 8 pm. The buy-in is going to be $20. There will be a 10% payout bracket.
