I wanted to know about the one that goes through the Schofield barracks someone said it's a oneway.....True/False

So this Makaha place when the term Ghetto is used what is actual Ghetto about it...

I rather live in the Ghetto than live in a Military infested housing community...

thanks again
Bro, if you want to get away from the military personnel that bad...then you've chosen the wrong place. Cost of living in hawaii limits your choices of where to live; BAH and COLA dosent pay that much and that depends upon your rank and if you E-5 or below and not married forget it unless you got 3 soldiers to go half on rent or mortgage. I dont know your rank or the standards of what you were/are accustomed to but you won't find a 4 bedroom 2 car garage (like texas) for $700.00 a month and gated community with security guards roaming and no traffic to work.

Try 1 bedroom efficiency close to town or work 2500.00 with a decent area, minimal security if that and your car subject to being vandalized. With those things in mind, you may want to consider living where most military do live or atleast get some recommendations as far as standards and security concerns...they know. Bro, if you that adament and rather live in the Ghetto than live in military infested community...you dont have to Oahu is too big. Most military opt to live on post due to cost of living or forced to live with 3 people in one apartment sharing 2000 to 3000 just to pay rent. Thats just the way it is and reality. You may need to rethink about that Ghetto location and think of your/family's safety, security and most of all the care of your Z. Listen to the guys... Sorry to sound so hard and not paint a pretty picture of palms trees and coconuts but it is what it is and no BS.....just my 0.2. Good luck on your search!

damn skippy......thanks for your post, very informative. I am an Navy E-5 over 5 years my BAH is $2,110. I been Craigslistin it up lately and Ewa Beach(Iroquis Point) is looking like the place I'm leaning towards. They got 3/4br for 1375-1575 sounds good to me...I read alot of comments on leaving in that area about the airport noise...but like you said that piece of mind will play a big part.

If anyone can chime in about the Ewa Beach living would be appreciated...

Now we talkin...good choice. I know people who lives out there (Iroquis Point). They like it, especially for the price. Only problem is one way in one way out..traffic, but dawg that's everywhere basically. A lot of peole at the point take the ferry to pearl harbor and back to avoid traffic. The Iroquis Point is a good choice.

Im pretty sure Silk means that first link is a good choice. That second link? Just to warn you between there and Schofield is a one lane road the entire way, you're looking at a 1-2 hour drive at 20 miles an hour the whole way depending on how many tour buses you get stuck behind. You're also looking at maybe 1 grocery store within a 30 minute drive etc. great shrimp is only 10 minutes away though.
