Happens to all kinds of organizations. They start off all enthusiastic, and then the club dies after the enthusiasm dies down. I had a feeling it would happen with this club, but maybe I'm wrong and the guy got hit by a bus or something.

yeah, I guess you either need a whole bunch of members willing to pitch in to make it work or you have to have one or two guys willing to put a lot of time into it.

It's not the work so much as the desire to stay together. If you have a small core group that likes to hang with each other, eventually people will notice and want to be part of the group. Once you pass a certain point, the core can retire and the group can continue without them. Look at the big gangs on the mainland. They started off small in a single neighborhood, but the core membership was together long enough to attract new members. Eventually they got big enough that people from other states started noticing. Now you have random newbies out in suburban Chicago wearing colors and claiming affiliation. That's probably the best sign that your group is big: random posers start claiming affiliation

You just need to find a group of people who like to hang out with each other, go on cruiZes, eat, etc., and find a really good organizer like "fdao" to do all the planning. That's why we have "chop suey" cruises...since he and ragtopz gave up their Z's.

Someone else had tried to start up a 350Z club here, some of us were part of that group. The main snag comes when people have a different agenda or opinion of which direction the club should take, and conflicting schedules of when they can get together.

If you guys can get together once a quarter, I think that's pretty good. IMO.

Sucks cause I work on Sunday and the cruise is always on Sundays. If I'm lucky, my schedule will be changing soon.

well, there's always someone stiring up a nissan get together rather than a car specific one. and there's been a few get togethers with the g35 guys at kaka'ako and at the track. one of the driving spirits on the g35driver site is baces...the guy loves get togethers and has pulled through for everyone. he's about having fun (although I think he's a bit wreckless drifting his sedan up in tantalus - all in fun) or if you want to get into an organized group...lmk. efiunlimited is looking for guys to join their ranks.
