Default Guys with the Greddy TT.

In my ever present research of better parts. I came across a part number for the K&N filter that will fit inside the engine bay. This replaces the mushroom of death and has great flow. Just wanted to get this out there so ints not barried in the vast ether we call the my350z.com.

K&N RU-3390
http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=RU-3390

RU-3390 Product Specifications
Product Style: Round Tapered Universal Air Filter
Base Outside Diameter: 5.875 in (149 mm)
Flange Inside Diameter: 2.75 in (70 mm)
Flange Length: 0.75 in (19 mm)
Flange Type: Centered
Height: 2.625 in (67 mm)
Top Outside Diameter: 4.75 in (121 mm)

Thats almost 15.5insq each in filter area if layed out (not including corrigation)!

The suction pipe is has a diameter of 2.758" So any filter will need a flange that has an ID of 2.75". I've yet to determine the available depth but still searching so what the nongest filter you can shove in there is. Not looking like more than 3 inches though.

So for any of you guy with the TT look into this. Me Im Im replacing the relocation I did with this to make room for the cooler and brace when I get back. I plan on getting a freakin saw with a carbide blade to cut that damn 3/8th aircraft aluminium for brackets. I am not coint to do that freakin hacksaw routh again. SCREW THAT!!!

EDIT: Here is the refrence thread that I came across. https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....hlight=RU-3390 . You can look at the pics and we may have about 3.5 to 4 inches to play with. Ther seems to be a little room in front of the filter.

EDIT EDIT: Here are the sizes available for the flange diameter of 2.75". I know the Auto mobile version of the 2580. It will take ALOT of effort to fit. Those are the ones I have for the relocation and they woulndt fit well in the bay. I got frusterated and quit trying and just ran the hose for the relocation.

Here is an update:

https://my350z.com/forum/showpost.ph...0&postcount=72

It realy wasnt as hard to fit as I thought. NO CUTTING INVOLVED!!!

I ended up using the KN 5111 which are WAY bigger than the ones I listed above. These should flow with no issues.

I really reccomend that people replace the POS Greddy spun foam "filters". If you search arround you will find the same result over and over again. People are opening their plenums or looking at the compressor side of the turbos and seeing ALOT of dirt and sand that their car has sucked up.

There is plenty of room to fit the filters in no worries.
