In keeping car clubs from gathering at one designated spot.

Now I dont know any of the new guys personally since the new group turned up, so I wont judge "you" personally based on any statements made here on the boards. It is what it is...an open forum. Good and bad comments come flying by, nothing personal taken, just because it was typed...doesnt neccessarily define you as a person.

Anyhow, for the record...I was there at the park. There was a time that I along with several others always got the G35's and the 350Z's along with the other Nissan groups at that time together. No I dont own a 350Z and never did. I had a G35 and yes it was modded. Yes I also got caught for many things as well.

I sympathized with the guys that got caught by the police and yes that sucks. The point is that if a person modifies his or her car in any way that might be questionable...then they should either check to see if it is legal (regardless on where they were prior) at the next place that they are going or even in their own place of residence. People (police included) can be difficult, that is just the way that its going to be. Never the less...all that I am saying is keep you car as legal as you can make it while still being able to express yourself in an artistic way. If you make it illegal, and you know it, then when you get caught, there really isnt much that you can complain about. It doesnt matter that others got away with it...all that matters is that you are legal. Like I said...people can be difficult.

Its a small island...we all know or have a relative thats a police officer or something. They dont always like to have to give out tickets to everyone for minor things...but they have pressure from their commanders to efforce certain issues. Cant always just stereotype them and bash them as well. Though....I think import cars are stereotyped and profiled.....ahhh I could be wrong, wouldnt be the first time.

Errrrr....nope not a cop. Yes I have a Viper now. Yes there are some small legal issues, nothing major. Yes I went to Sand Island. No didnt get caught since I went there after the issues to look at the GTR.
Hummmmm, left before all of us headed to Sand Island. Got to the park after the raid was over......hummmm but not ensenuating anything though As I said before, the cop that was at my car seemed not to be enthused about ticketing but was pressured from a plain cloths officer, pointing out things. I saw that with my own eyes.

I know alot of cops at the gates entering in a out of the post the last two years and yes not all are A-holes and do have modded cars also and we do talk about mods to the cars, but most of what I've seen are the bikers that are an issue. This is an open forum and you are entitled to your opinon but your opinon did sound as you were pointing fingers "your fault, suck it up"..."ultimately if you really did "obey" the vehicular laws" and you say it wasnt directed at us, those with mods, thinking of getting mods, and got ticketed Saturday? Then you post on the Z forum nobody knows you, your attitude, charactor, demenor, your car etc. Sorry, but human nature takes over and its common to judge off yours/a strangers's words especially when you aren't known by anybody in the Z Community....maybe the Gs but not the Zs.

I hope you posted your thoughts there...on the G site. Oh and for the record, they didn't get ticketed.....just us and the ones that did, got off......hummmm. I'll leave it alone. Nice meeting you on the forum...still got the invite with the rest the modded/illegal cars at the show. oh, btw nice viper. Should have stayed just a little longer though or showed up alittle earlier at the park maybe your opinon would have been just a little different if you were in line with all of us and other families heading home. Then again you maybe would have been the one who got away. Im done with this thread.

So lets talk about a couple of things, I was gonna leave this alone till I read all the garbage thats being said. I have what Hawaii has decided to be an illegal car. I have an Esprit kit that does not have pre-drilled holes for a front license plate. I am sorry John Q. Public for having an illegal car and not having a front license plate. I moved here because Uncle Sam told me I would. No choice involved on my side. Since that is now out of the way, who is this XLR8SN? I like math so lets add some things up...

1. XLR8SN does not own a Z or G. Used to own a G, but now a Viper.
2. XLR8SN is posting his opinion on a Z site.
3. XLR8SN left before everyone else and showed up after the ticketing was
over.
4. XLR8SN admitted to having "illegal" work done to his Viper, but says that
you should keep your car as legal as possible.

Now if you add all this up, because he says he's not a cop, then he might be a..... well you fill in the blank. But I call things how I see them and I smell a rat.

damm, my bad guys... i had guys looking for my Z, and they found out all the info from my Z from this forums. Somehow they found out where i live and where my Z was from myspace, and then here. They work with the police and probably fowarded the forums to them when they found out about the cruise.

It's the local law, you need to have a front plate, regardless of the situation. If you truly did not know, perhaps you can ask the judge to let you off. On the bright side, you were lucky to not be ticketed for the lack of door handles, at least you got away with that.

XLR8SN is not a police officer. The park was targeted because of an improperly organized car show. Unfortunate, but you guys were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I know, I Know, I said I was gonna leave it alone. One last thing. I see now the roaches and rats are coming out when those lights come on and monitoring the forums for meetings, cruises, shows.....its obvious when people show up on the forum that never posted before, just to see what we are saying about this situation. Most likely they already knew or forwarned of these type of stings..like it was said before "small island and somebody knows or have family members who are cops". Its like the arsonist standing back in the crowd looking, laughing at his work after hes set fire to an apartment building and gettin off on it. Thanks, we just got hip to the game. Bottomline, we need to PM a little more. Its very easy to get a email address get on a forum and monitor it. I really thought these forums were for Real Z/G enthusiast, not an opportunity to make a quota or hitting car clubs....especially when you don't have neither car...

I probably should just ignore this thread since the point is really moot. I acknowledged that there were some things that were questionable in regards to legality (see above posts). At any point...did I say that I was 100% legal?....though the lack of the front plate is the only issue that I would have. I have the front plate mount in my car.....if I get stopped and ticketed...then it would be my fault. Not the fault of the officer that gives me the ticket. Neither would I call him any names because he gave me a ticket.

Bottom line, if anyone changes things on their car in any way that they are possibly going to get a ticket, then so be it. Complaining about it on a public board is not neccessarily going to get you any sympathy for something that a person needs to be resposible for, for their own choices. I think that it is a simple part of the law to understand...at least the core of the concept. Ignorance is not really an excuse in the eyes of the officer. Yes you can contest it in court....but you might still get the ticket.

People complain about something...and yet there is another side to the reasons. If people want to be considered and accepted as a responsible adult then so be it.

I appreciate the fact that you guys are sticking up for each other, that in itself is a good thing...and I really dont have any personal issues with anyone. It was never meant to be a personal accusation towards anyone per se...hence the quotes in any usage of the word "you" in prior posts. The point of the post originally was just to say that they are doing their job no matter how anyone wants to look at it. It wasnt "fair" that people were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Everyone knows that where-ever there are cruises and meets with FH....odds are they are going to be monitored by cops. Thus.....avoid them in the future or be catagorized along with them in regards to police profiling. However, the duties of the police are supposed to enforce the law. We need to abide by it and/or be prepared to accept the responsibilities for those infractions.

okay... unfortunately, i found out the reason why all of you guys got tagged at the park. This is from a source that is pretty reliable, but i cannot say who this person is.

Someone in a 350z was driving reckless under nimitz highway by the airport, or driving fast. The sherrifs reported this to HPD dispatch, and since there were multiple "illegal" vehicles driving inside sand island access road, they dispatched a blue and white to check out the area. the blue and white confirmed a large amount of "race looking vehicles" at the park, so they took all the solo bikes off the H1 to do there thing with you guys. That was the report, but not confirmed!

There was a sticker spotted on this speeder, but it couldn't be 100% confirmed if it was an OahuZ sticker. So i don't want everyone to think that it was a 350z. You know a lot of modified cars can look a like to people that don't really know them. So the reason was because there was a vehicle drivng fast, that was loud under nimitz, and police know that park to be a spot for car clubs to hang out at.

*So if you were one of the people speeding under nimitz with your loud car, you should kick yourself in the ***** for getting everyone else in trouble.

No...wasnt the spirit run....remember we went around the long way to 78, and up H1 east... we never went to the underpass at Nimitz.
