Do you know if its a minor case where i just go in and defend myself? or is it one of those cases where i HAVE to get an attorney?

haha yea, a month ago. I have to go to court tomorrow morning. I really hope its one of those cases where i plead guilty or not guilty and explain my story. I really dont want to go through the whole attorney/waiting for another hearing.

 

ALWAYS take a lawyer. Unless of course the crime is that minor but if you are facing any significant punishment (loss of license) you would be a fool without one.

 

You might not have to if you can plea bargain at the preliminary...

Word to the wise: Either roll with a chick similiar to cancers avatar for booby exposure once he rolls you to get out of a ticket, or carry lots o' starbucks/krispy kreme $20.00 gift cards in one of your compartments and "accidently" flash that instead of your drivers license to get em off your tail. A combination of both combined is a sure way to ensure you get off with a warning. Sorry to hear about your misfortune man, hope everything works out well for you. Keep it under 155.

well, i went to court to contest three tickets: No front plates, illegal left turn, and exhibition of speed. And i got all them dismissed

That night i got the tickets, i was actually running from the cops cause i knew they saw me zip by the gas station that they were at. I pulled into someones driveway and waited for about 10 mins with my car off. I went out to the street to see if there were any cops insight, but there were none. So, I backed out of the driveway and as soon as my rear tires touched the aspahlt, the cop turns into the street i was in -.- the officer let me go for DUI, but ended up giving me the 3 tickets.

I just got out of a speeding ticket (65 in a 35) because I had pictures of the speed limit sign that was spraypainted over (last one coming out of Ewa if you guys have seen it).

Anyways, exhibition of speed requires you to smoke your tires. You can get exhibition of acceleration, but that's it. Any EOS ticket and they need proof you were burning rubber. Thank God for AWD, lol... no can get, so I HOLD DAT FAKA!!!

 

it's a ticket that the police can give you if he deems that your driving in an unsafe manner. i.e using hydraulics(any of your wheels leave the ground, speeding although no gun is used) i got a exhibition of speed ticket just by driving by a cop in my fd rx7. the blowoff went off and he pulled me over and gave me an exhibition of speed ticket. although i was gunning it a little. the turbo i had (t66) would take time to build up boost, but when it went off it was ear pearcing. my other lowrider friends in high school used to get them while using their hydraulics on public road.(3 wheel motion). hard to get out of that ticket, it's like a speeding ticket sort of. your insurance will go up if they check on it. if you really want to get try and get out of it. you can try to call patrick macpherson(lawyer). i think that's how you spell his name.

 

what'd you tell the judge to get let off on all three?

 

If you didn't do this, you can't be charged with it.

the way the law is actually worded sounds like you only can get busted for that at a stop and with a crowd of people to watch you. i think that was kind of fail on whoever worded that law.
