Default Help installing footwell kit/Reading wire manual

Nissan Japan Footwell kit.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me. I don't need anything in Japanese translated, just help with wire colors.

Original instructions (only page 6 is the important one)
http://www.courtesyparts.com/instruc...0-Z33KT_6.html

My BCM looks like: http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...-BCM_Small.jpg

R/B = Red with Black stripe
L/W = Blue with White stripe
L = Blue
P = Pink

My BCM doesn't match either the instructions either (I have an 05' and I think the manual is for an 03'-04').

Thanks!

Chris

PS Please don't flame.

Read 2 different z forums with different directions...

L connects to White
L/W connects to Pink
R connects to Purple from the fuse outlet

That doesn't work either. This is a little aggravating, oh well. Good way to learn I guess.

Sweet, thanks. I believe the (+) will go into the R/B above the fuses.

I am trying to read my BCM which is 40 pin:

10 and 14 are the L and R door triggers:

Still won't work. Thanks again, but back to the drawing board lol.

Not sure if this will help but if you take a look at the lighting section of the FSM (LT) on page LT-137, it starts to list which terminals in the BCM provide ground and power under which conditions. That may help you track it down.

If you don't have a copy of the FSM, you can get a torrent of the 2006 version here.

Not sure where you want to connect the lights. If you want them to come on with the map lights, then it looks like the power lead to the map lights comes from terminal 41 (Red/Black) on the BCM. The BCM provides a ground to the Map light (based on a combination of conditions) to terminal 48 (Pink) on the BCM. Otherwise, ground it supplied to the map lights through M30.

So, if you want the lights to come on whenever the car automagically turns on the map lights, I think you just need to connect the power side to terminal 41 on the BCM (Red/Black) and connect the ground to terminal 48 (Pink).

Thanks! I will look into that. The BCM in the instruction guide is for a 2003-2004 I believe. I have a 2005 so the pins that I need to tap into are in different locations. I was looking into the FSM last night for the 2004 and 2005 models (thanks for the link by the way).

There are 4 wires I basically need to use - 1 b (ground), 1 r (power), 1 l (assuming for 1 light), 1 l/w (assuming for the other light).

Ground - easiest, tap to the body
Power - I'm using R/B from the fuse box. I'll try the BCM.
Blue - White on BCM (what other people did)
Blue/White - Pink on BCM (what other people did).

I know the easiest is to jimmy-rig it and use the dome light wires, run a long wire down to the footwell and it should work, but this kit is made for the car... Can't understand why it doesn't work....

Thanks again!

Problems solved, thanks!

I assumed the timing/dimming was in sync with the dome light. The footwell lights dim a little later than the dome light.
