Toys 4 Tots 2009
Hey guys I just got a call from the lead coordinator for Toys 4 Tots and he let me know that there will be a meeting regarding the cruise/event this Saturday @ the Airport Starbucks under Nimitz...
My question is...does Oahu Z want to partake in this year's festivities?
I forget what time is the meeting I have the guys contact.
Btw...reason he called me was because I was the "Lead" for the B15 Sentra club before...
I say let's do it and of course the more the merrier(sp?) ...so yeah just wanted to get that out there...

Yea, it was interesting. wow, that was a year ago huh and that was time I found out that I wasn't getting what I thought I was getting. Kinda ironic I'm finally putting that very same kit on after a year waiting. No bro I haven't forgot sheeet just put it in the back of my mind until now.

This should be a good turn out!!! Hopefully we can have the new and the old members of Oahu Z come out. 350 and 370Zs alike coming out to support a good cause. Hopefully a lot of the fellas whose been MIA, including myself, can make it out, and turn this in to a huge Z event.
I mean the last big Z event we had was our run to Cholos, and that was back when our military guys were still here. Maybe we can turn this toys for tots cruise into another cruise and eat type thing. I know last year we all drove down to KBay together but after the look out we all went our separate ways. Just throwing the idea out there but after toys are dropped is anybody down to do a bbq or go some place to eat or something????
Well either way I am down for the cruise and my boy just got a 370 and I know he is down to go as well.

I should be home in about 2 weeks!! If my car is out of the shop, you can certainly count me in to cruise and party. I got some paint and body work to get done, but it shouldn't take GX too long to get her ready to roll again.

Nice to see the old school back in town. Glad you both made it back safely. Everything is the same as when you left, believe me, you haven't missed anything. I'm sure you both have a lot of catching up to do (12 months worth) with the your wives and Good luck on your new builds, I'm sure you guys got big plans for the Zs.

**update 9/23**
Hey guys, I wasn't able attend the meeting but I did call the person in charge and we had a great conversation on what happened at the meeting and what is to be expected at this years, Toy's for Tot's 2009
Meet Spot: Kapolei KMart
Time: 1030am
Drivers Meeting: 11:15am
Rollout: 1130
We will be cruising from Kapolei to Kaneohe Marine Corps Base. We have a time frame from 12-3pm to get into the gate but I recommend we get there as early as possible.
I say this because this year, instead of just dropping off the Toy's, the commander of the marine base would like to give back to all participating clubs by allowing a "Show & Shine" during the event to show off each and every club. There will be games, food and prizes that will go toward the kids we're sponsoring.
Raffle and Prizes: Each driver dropping off a toy will be issued a raffle ticket for prizes that each club is responsible to bring - let me explain. Each club will donate one (not limited to) raffle prize which will be raffled amongst the other clubs. We can do shirts, gas cards, car parts, discounts, Zippy's Chilli Tickets, whatever you like! just something fun for our fellow car enthusiasts.
They're trying to get the word out to as many clubs as possible so if you know any, please let them know; I can give you the coordinator's contact info. I will be talking to the G Club and posting this in their forums as well.
Bottom Line: I think this is gonna be a great event this year, and according to Toy's for Tot's we're the largest contributing fund of toys for Hawaii. Last year, we brought it over 250 cars with over 300 toys.
We're doing this for the kids, I think they all deserve it. Who's in??
