Ok as most of you know I'll be gettin stationed back home in Hawaii in April. I've been talking to Johnny from Jtran Studios about flying him down to Oahu to get my car retuned just incase something changes in my tune from going from Texas to Oahu. Also talked to him about tuning other cars while he was on Oahu. We both agreed on doing this when I finally got to Oahu and got home. From what he told me and his exact words were "I'll tune whatever(whatever car)" and "$300 per tune". So if any of you Oahu or Hawaii guys at that are interested let me know or post up on here. We're looking at doing this is April and he'll stay on Oahu untill every car is done, so he says.
I just have a couple of question. What shop on Oahu has a dyno machine that we can rent and how much per day or per hour?
Hawaii/Oahu this is your chance to get tuned by one of the best from Texas, a Tuner/ shop owner who will actually take care of his customers and damn nearly bend over backwards to satisfy his customers. So spread the word. This is going to be his mini vacation and a way to expand to help out the Z/G and car community.
If any of you have any questions let me know and I'll inform him or you can ask Johnny yourself. He's on the forums also, he goes under Overdrive/Jtran.
So how many people would be interested in doing this?
Mike

Probably the two most common places to get tuned (for the Z) is Sonics and Munky Wurks Garage. The Utec guys usually go to Sonics and Sean at Munky Wurks is a certified Osiris dealer and Tuner... but for $300, he's really gonna stir up some noise.

uh....yah. Stir up noise aint the word....you mean cause a freak'n riot! But thats if $300.00 includes tune and dyno time?. You have to consider the use of dyno. I don't know what the rates are at the other shops but I've heard they are expensive. I'm not gonna say what the going rate at Sonics are, you can call Seth/Robert and ask. But I will tell you this from my experience/opinon, they are one of the best on island for tunes/dyno; their charges for tune/dyno runs I think are comparible and reasonable to the price of the tune as stated above. But again does that $300 including dyno time? you have to consider dyno time...which is gonna cost, the proper way to tune and that aint free
. I hate to rain on the parade but just things to consider.

this is what is gonna go on before we hit hawaii, we are gonna contact which ever shop and setup and see how much it will be to rent there dyno out and hopefully, ahem, mike cough, we will be able to have a few people help us load and unload cars. we arent trying to stir up trouble and we are def. not trying to take business away from people there either. just wanna get out there and check out the scene and offer what we know and can offer to the community while we are out there. main reason we are going out there is to make sure nothing changes when mikes car hits hawaii. due to the fact the weather is way different and humidity, to my knowledge, is next to nothing. which all that will affect the tune.

coo...do you what you do brah....
I am pretty impartial whether people pay us to tune their cars or not. I think our prices are quite reasonable given we do it at a flat rate regardless of how many dyno hours it actually takes. But I like it when other tuners come as well because I can get paid without doing anything. I do rent out the dyno for a reasonable amount as well. Best is to just rent it for the whole day rather than per car. Our dyno is just off of one of our lifts as well so its easy to rack the car if needed. Also its in ground for you low guys. Let me know.
