Default My Laguna Seca Z

Well many have asked so I decided to make a thread of my build. The car has been down since May, hence why my car was not present at all the shows or meets we have had. I loved how my car looked before but I felt it was time to switch it up a bit. I decided to undergo an exterior transformation. While in the process of deciding on which route I wanted to go with this, I contemplated amongst three colors. I wanted the lexus Pearl white, a candy blue similiar to the daytona blue, or a really deep red. Although these colors would look sick and have been done, I wanted something different that was not similiar to anything Nissan offered stock. I was looking for a color that was unquestionable. So I decided to go with Laguna Seca Blue, color offered by BMW, and add a blue Pearl to make it pop.
I have posted many threads selling parts to replace with......
CF Asuka double hump roof skin, type 2 hood
CF mastergrade hatch, A pillars, B pillars, TS rear diffuser
08 headlights
Alliance BBK
Volk GTS +17, +18 rims
and other stuff that I can't think of right now
Car is currently at the shop and majority of the body work is complete. Clearcoat has been sanded off all carbon fiber parts and is ready to be recleared. I will be updating this thread with pics and info whenever I have anything lol. The car is scheduled to be ready by Spocom, ending of August.
I posted a lot of pics, because I don't know how soon I will have updates

go through the car with a fine tooth comb ( a gap tool too! ) prior to paint.

basically one of the best builds i've seen bodywise. new front end?

are you going w a matte or gloss clear on the cf?

i plan on it!!! i will thoroughly inspect everything! I contemplated getting a new front end, possibly in the near future....but for now i plan on just using the same front end. I never considered doing a matt clear....I might consider it, but for now I'm looking at doing a gloss clear. Any clear is better than what was originally on the cf.

I've always loved that color on the M3s. A member here, "Mr. CF", has a Z with this color (thread 1, thread 2, thread 3). I like your selection of exterior mods. Looking forward to seeing yours completed.

Can't wait to see your car jeff, that BLURPLE is gonna look sick....
When I decided to go with Laguna Seca blue, I searched all over to see if it had already been done. Many have inquired about it but only MR.CF pulled the trigger.... I liked the color, but I wanted to go a different direction than what he did. I want to keep a clean look of my Z and have everything color matched and flowing. No disrespect to MR.CF and what he did, but I feel his presentation had to many colors and things going on for my taste. For example Carbon, red, laguna seca blue, chrome, etc. All the different colors IMO were distracting and didn't flow....Again this is just my opinion. The last thread you posted of his car, looks a lot better. New front end and painted sides, but I still don't like how he has the plastic piece, that holds the side mirrors, painted blue....It breaks the CF and Laguna Seca blue separation....
Well, enough about his car, again nice but just not my taste.
Other mods that are being done that I have not posted is..... Headlights are gonna be blacked out and customized, tail lights and turning signals will be tinted (to flow, and avoid having chrome and red showing), The lip of my volk GTS will be painted gloss black and the face will be painted a matt/ or flat black, the BBK Caliper will be color matched to the car (because the color they came in wouldn't really flow with what I am doing), and the side mirrors will be painted either gloss or flat black(not sure yet, I didn't want to just get the shells in CF that are offered, and the craftsquare mirrors still haven't grown on me), a few other things are in the works but I can't reveal everything

puertorican -

Oh yeah, most definitely. I agree with you on everything you said; no disrespect meant to the other member. I like your selection so far and what you're planning sounds like something to look forward to. Keep us updated often.

I ordered some hatch struts from JasonZ-Ya for my carbon fiber hatch. They came in on Saturday so I will be dropping them off to the shop tomorrow. Hopefully I will have updated pics tomorrow.
