Default Digital Camera

I am in the market for a digital camera. I am pretty much looking for a point-n-shoot. Something kind of small, but not so small it is awkward to hold. Price range is $250-$350. Any suggestions?

I've had a few Olympus' and couldn't be more pleased. Check them out.

Kodak, on the other hand, has been dispponting.

Canon

If you can find one, the A95, if not, either the A620 or the A610. The A610 and A620 replaced the A95. But, I'm sort of partial to the older model. The 610 and 95 are 5 MP and the 620 is a 7.1. You can't go wrong with any of them.

I have a Vivitar ViviCam 4100. I got it for $100 at Walmart and it's way better than my $300 Samsung digital camera that was crap. It's a great price and it can even record too.

I read some reviews on the Canon's and they seemed pretty good. Does anyone have any experience with Nikon coolpix?

I had a CoolPix as my second digital camera a long time ago. It wasn't until I saw some shots with the Canon digicams that I realized how much I didn't like the shots that my CoolPix took. But YMMV.

I highly recommend the Canon SD450. It has the new DIGIC II processor which is really fast. It is fairly small and easy to carry around. Has a very large screen. Battery life is OK as with most of these point-and-shoot cameras. 5.0MP should be enough for your usage.

Dell is offering the Canon SD550 7.1MP digital camera for only $326.40 after 20% off code "4Q46Z?TNQ54LBN" and $35 off $300+ code "$DF97G9KXSNJWW". Features 2.5" display, 3X optical zoom and DIGIC II image processing. Deal expires 10/26/05. Click here for the techdeal.

And they've also got its little brother, the Canon SD450 5.1MP digital camera for only $285.30 after B>20% off code "H5?J088$WJTFVK" and $35 off $300+ code "$DF97G9KXSNJWW". Features 2.5" display and 3X optical zoom. Click here for the techdeal.

all you really need is a 5 megapixal camera and then you judge you price based on the optical zoom.
