Good stuff. Images are sharp, colors are vibrant (cept the shot of Sam... out of focus )

Just bought my 2nd 40D about an hour ago from Best Buy... You can now use the coupons you get as a best buy reward zone member and use your Best Buy card to get 12% off.

Came out to be $1320. Good thing I sent back my first 40D. Bye Bye XTi. Had thoughts of keeping it as a backup body, but it has to go.

Here's a pic I took with my 1st 40D back in September, but the Aperture was set to F/29... hence the softness. Brought back to life with Camera RAW.

dont buy anything but canon L glass.

lenses used at D1:

400 F4 DO IS
70-200 2.8L IS
24-105 F4L IS
16-35 F4L IS

$10,000+ in lenses lol

With the 1.6 crop factor there are lenses where the "L" advantage becomes negligible in every aspect but build quality. I think the "only buy L glass" mentality is a huge misconception in both consumer and professional photography.

If you can I'd save up a little more and get the canon 10-22, I respect sigma and other companies, but I've never regretted getting rid of them and getting the canon gear.

you mean 16 35 2.8L, right? Canon doesn't make any wide angle L zoom with IS.

Well, sold my Nikon D40 and decided to switch to the dark side

On the way from the intranets:

Canon 40D w/ 28-135mm Lens
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens
72mm & 52mm UV Filters
Sandisk Extreme III 4gb Card
Canon Camera Bag
Manfrotto 804RC2 Head w/ 190XDB Legs

Looking forward to joining the 40D family

Well, after months of agonizing, I finally sold my 30D on eBay. My 40D came on Tuesday. Hope it was worth the upgrade. On first blush, it sure appears like it is

Well to this day i love my 40D and now getting into studio photography. About a week ago i got my first canon L lens, its a 70-200/f4L IS. Plus i got a few more things since my last post to here. Like a "Digital Target" white balance board, 2 320ws Photogenic studio light kit, gray muslin background. Built my own color gel folder for my 580exII. Plus got remote flash triggers.

Here is a web link for all the canon users, that you may want to bookmark.
http://photography-on-the.net/forum/
It is full of knowledge on equipment for canon and postings of other peoples photo skills and work. And yes there is a Glamour/Nude section in there, but you have to be registered on the forum to view that section.
