GTNPU Z, you should set your color balance when taking night shots. It will get rid of the orange. I like the Tea Garden pictures. A little underexposed, but nothing PS can't fix.
Maybe my laptop screen needs calibration. Now that I'm at home, your pics look brighter.

Cool shots GTNPU Z
It looks like you may have sharpened em up a bit in photoshop. I did the same in the beginning because I wasn't satisfied with the sharpness I was getting out of the 18-55mm kit lens. Try changing the f stop to f/8-f/11 or so. You'll should notice a difference. I didn't need to sharpen these pics, they were both taken at f/8.

So I took some more shots tonight & it definitely turned out better with all of your suggestions. I had some glare on some of my shots though which was pissing me off
. How do you guys prevent the lights glaring in your lens? Do I need a lens hood?

^Nice! Did your friend just stick his hand out with the camera on the freeway?!
I wouldn't be intimidated bro. I don't know jack as well. I just got started a few weeks ago & simply just started reading up, practicing, & asking folks for advice. I think it's one of those things where the more you do it, the easier it gets. As soon as I get comfortable with my setup, I'm thinking of upgrading my lens since I can already tell the limitations of my lens now.

it depends...lol. what type of pictures do you like to take? the 17-85 IS is a good all around lens but my not be fast enough. if you like motorsports, sports, kids, indoors, lowlight, etc, you should look into any of the f/2.8 lens. for the money, look into the 50 f/1.8 if you like portraits. it's only $75 and it produces awesome pictures with good bokeh.
The 17-70 is a good lens but not a constant 2.8 throughout the focal range while the 24-70 is. you lose 7mm on the wide side so it's a toss up. there's also the 24-105L, the new 17-55 f/2.8 IS, and Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 EX.
