I'll be tackling this project this summer.
I've been browsing through POTN, but most everyone is very secretive with their setups (understandable).
But any tips would be appreciated.

My friend Cosmin (username on here is Infinus) has a pretty sick custom rig. Here are a few unedited pics so you can see what it looks like. The cool thing about this rig is that its held underneath the car by either clips or magnets instead of on the body so its a lot easier to photoshop out. And you also don't have to worry about scratching any part of your car. Again these pics are untuched so don't mind the way they look

Calin, is your friend located in SoCal? Is he super sensitive/secretive with his rig? I'd love to check it out in person to get some perspective before I build mine!

I went down to meet the guys behind automotiverigs.com and pick up one of the newly designed rigs. Really Nice guys BTW. This one uses clamps instead of the magnets, I like it and feel that it holds much better than the magnets would. However when the cars are too low its still a bit of a problem so I plan on making a suction cup variation of it also. The rig as it sits still has a small bit of motion but so far its been manageable. Now all I need is a good ND filter from my 10-22 so i can shoot during the day.
The rig:

actually, in that thread there is a link to a POTN thread my friend made, and it has a detailed parts list and a few pictures of the actual rig.
