The "Look what photo gear i got TODAY!" Thread!
Show what you received in the mail today!
Yes yes, you KNOW what I'm talking about!
UPS, Fedex, DHL, USPS, GreyHound...these are some of your bestest best friends for the day.
The wait, the patience, the anger, the rush....oh can't forget the burnt pocket. Yes you felt it. Now you need to show it off. What did you get TODAY?!
What did I get?
I was just supposed to get the Olympus e-520... ended up getting quite a bit more This thing is small and light compared to the 40D.
The Box from B&H...
DOH!
Double DOH!
Couldn't help myself and got the 14-54... which is dust and splash proof and under $400.
The Olympus lenses are small, here's a look compared to the Canon 50mm f/1.8
I said my pocketbook is cabbage, so why not make it more cabbage! Needed the triggers.
Waterproof... as if I need it... why not?

Too much... guys, you could have gotten the deal of the year with this e-520 with lens kit... over the 4th of July weekend, dealers were already marking it down from $699 to $560. Everybody has it back to $699 though. I wanted in body IS, plus the Olympus 4/3 system had alot different than what can be found on the Canon EF system... like their legendary color, 2X crop factor, and of course, the in body IS that will allow even wide-angle lenses (and fisheyes) to be IS'd. The Olympus will be a great addition to my Canon gear IMO.
Total cost? Only $1,700+. Still, not as much as a pro body. God, I can only hope the 5D replacement will not be a heartstopper. Still, it's 'only' money...

You don't like the 28-135? It is/was one of my favorites.
I love ducks... especially the white ones that you shot.
