Default Amazing paintings....

I figured most of you photographers would appreciate this. I thought it was mind blowing how realistic these paintings are. Her name is Raphaella Spence, enjoy:

wow....the ones on the website of the beach and skyline are even more amazing. I wonder how big they are and now I wish I could draw more then uneven stick figures. Sigh.

can't be a painting.... if you look at the image below you'll see a shadow haze of some sort. this is included under Paintings.

its says 'oil on canvas'... so i guess its real... but the question i would like to ask is... why spend all this time painting it when it can easily be done (with exact results) by simple photography?... these paintings are impressive, but not expressive...

well that can be asked about anything. why do anything? PhD or bum you both die in the end, rich or poor old or young. but more specifically, by painting these incredible paintings, the artist separates themselves into the category of great. while the same pictures done on camera would take a fairly good photographer, professional photographers are a dime a dozen. but these paintings, only a few, if not less could create. and also, maybe this is what the artist enjoys doing, if so then let it be done...

Yes, those are paintings. Look closely enough and you will see the slightest hint of a brush stroke, especially in the boy's hair.

There is an American painter specializing in motorcycle paintings who too, does an absolutely incredible job. 100% "photo realistic" paintings (the chrome nearly hurts your eyes). He was on Speed Channel once. The guy's originals sell for $100k+ and even the impeccably laser-scanned and printed copies go for $5k each!
