Finding a mkI is the way to go. Other than the semi-irritating built-in hood, it's no different then the mkII for half the price.

I have a really sharp M42 mount Vivitar 135mm F2.8 that has a built in hood...you're spot on about them being semi-irritating...It could really use being 1/2 to 3/4 longer.

Yup. Too short to be effective and don't always stay in place. But for the price, you can't beat it.

Local. Traded my Tokina 11-16 for it. It's the big brother to the 135L. I can't tell any difference in IQ or bokeh between the two.

I don't think it's quick enough. Maybe when my daughter is older. She's only 10 months.
